Campaign Overview

Kaldi’s Coffeehouse & Roastery, a Black-woman-owned coffee business based in Charlotte, NC, is on a mission to celebrate diversity, community, and the rich history of coffee. With deep roots in Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and a commitment to quality, we’re ready to take our operations to the next level—and we need your support to make it happen!

Why We Need You

We’re expanding our reach with some exciting new projects:

1. Whiskey-Aged Coffee Beans

In partnership with Uncle Nearest Premium Whiskey, we’re crafting whiskey-barrel-aged coffee beans that honor the rich history of African American contributions to the spirits industry.

2. Bowman Gray Racing Coffee Vendor

We’re thrilled to bring our signature brews to Bowman Gray Stadium as a coffee vendor for racing fans.

3. Upgrading Our Roastery

We’re investing in a larger coffee roaster and espresso machine while modernizing our roasting process to meet demand.

4. Introducing the Kaldi’s Coffee Cart

A mobile coffee cart will allow us to serve our community at local events, festivals, and pop-up markets.

5. HBCU Coffee Series Expansion

Our HBCU Series pays homage to Black excellence by dedicating a unique coffee blend to each HBCU. Proceeds support scholarships and initiatives at these institutions. We’re scaling this project to reach more schools and impact more students.

What We’re Asking

We’re raising $50,000 to fund these exciting initiatives. Here’s how your contributions will be used:

$20,000: Develop and launch the Kaldi’s Coffee Cart.

$12,000: Purchase a larger roaster and update our roasting facilities.

$10,000: Upgrade our espresso machine to support the growth of our cart business 

$8,000: Fund packaging and distribution for the whiskey-aged coffee beans and cold brews.

5. $500 – Curated coffee/tea Tasting

A Kaldi’s coffee or tea tasting for up to 15 people. Subscription to Kaldi’s Newsletter.

6. $1,000 – Kaldi’s Coffee Membership

Entitles you to our yearly coffee gift box, free brewed coffee, Kaldi’s swag, and previews + samples of any new coffee coming to market.  Subscription to Kaldi’s Newsletter.

7. $5,000 – Founders’ Circle Recognition

Entitles you to one bag of coffee per month for 2 years in addition to the yearly coffee gift box, free brewed coffee, Kaldi’s swag, and previews + samples of any new coffee coming to market.
