Timebirds vs Your Current Timer

In most forms of training, you want a constantly visible time-source, keeping you accountable and getting the most out of each and every workout.

While there are many timing solutions on the market, none are versatile enough to be clearly seen and heard in multiple situations, while also giving the confidence that they will survive the rigors of the workout environment.

We’ve made Timebirds small enough to fit in your pocket but large enough to see during a workout.

 Timebirds’ long-life battery and fast charging mean your workout is not limited by power point access. You can take it wherever you go.

The sleek design has been considered both inside and out, to maximize durability.

Timebirds have a consolidated circuit board that is fixed directly to the housing, strengthened further by inner ribs. This means there are no loose components. The thick, scratch-resistant, polycarbonate lens snaps directly into the housing, eliminating pressure points. It’s all encased in a high quality, non-slip, rubber skin that will not come off or crack over time, even in sweaty gym bags. Each button is optimally sized and placed for easy finger reach and moulded as part of the rubber skin, increasing overall water resistance and durability.

Each digit is illuminated by large, seven-segment LEDs and an anti-glare lens, to maximum visibility.

Powerful magnets have been fitted into the housing so Timebirds can be securely attached to any metallic (steel) surfaces, making them clearly visible during workouts. Their profile is thin enough to fit in your pocket but thick enough to stand by itself.

The result is a solid timer that feels great to hold and looks at home wherever you place it.

Available in a sexy matte black, it looks the part whether magnetized to a gym rig, a basketball post or while charging in the house.  We’ve also added a quartz crystal to provide the most stable, reliable and accurate clock signal. 

To cover all your training needs, Timebirds are programmed with five versatile workout modes you can easily cycle through with just one touch. 

The menu has been designed with intuitive mode indicators that use initials, rather than random numbers, for each setting.

 The Love Birds: 2x Timebirds timers 

The idea of building a pocket-sized version of a gym timer was born back in 2018.

The project was then taken into the Entrepreneurship program at the University of Melbourne, Australia. It took nearly 2 years to ideate, test and transform different proofs of concept and functioning prototypes. Our latest design is the result of several iterations and field tests by athletes of all fitness levels.

We have now reached a Design for Manufacture Stage, with all the functionalities that will enhance people’s workout sessions. Our timeline allows for unexpected events in order to anticipate any delays due to the COVID19 situation. Our manufacturing partners are currently setting up for large scale production so we can start shipping Indiegogo orders across January 2021.

As dedicated fitness enthusiasts ourselves, we found it difficult to stay as accountable when in our home gym, hotel gyms, or training outside as we were when connected to the wall timer at our regular gym. We tried watches, which proved difficult whenever we needed two hands; phones, which resulted in cracked screens, phone call distractions, and any number of expletives as phones went to sleep just at the wrong moment. None quite hit the spot, and the more we talked to other athletes, gym owners, and personal trainers, we realised we weren’t alone – and, just like that, the concept of Timebirds, a purpose-built, personal workout timer was born.

Return Policy

Our intention is to do everything we possibly can to deliver a great, safe and reliable product to you on time. All the funds will be used towards organizing large scaled production and the launch of Timebirds. We will not offer refunds or returns, but in the unlikely event that you receive a damaged or faulty item, please report it immediately to your carrier upon receiving your package, and contact us support@timebirds.com.
