Our story is not just about working with world class scientists and artists. It is also about leadership, sustainability, indigenous culture, tourism for good and changing peoples lives and behaviours. It is about hope and action.

The Great Barrier Reef is the largest coral reef ecosystem in the world. With almost 3,000 individual reefs, 900 islands, and stretching for 2,600km the reef is massive. The Reef is also highly vulnerable. In the past three decades, it has lost half its coral cover, pollution has caused deadly starfish outbreaks, and global warming has produced coral bleaching.

A small group of scientists, tourism operators, local businesses and artists had an innovative idea for reaching the hearts and minds of hundred of millions of people. They partnered with world renowned artist and conservationist Jason decaires Taylor and formed the Museum of Underwater Art. The vision was to create four game changing artworks that will increase knowledge about the ocean, indigenous culture and inspire eco-tourism, citizen science and sustainability. All of our activities such as planting coral, travel, research will be environment positive and culturally empowering. We are offering a very unique opportunity for people, families and organisations the chance to make a legacy impact and be involved (virtually or in-person)  for a life changing experience helping the Great Barrier Reef  in 2020/21. If this opportunity is supported we will expand for up to several hundred additional people in 2021.
