Using Nuvoe is simple!

Upgrade – Tape the Magnetic Anchor to the outside of your bottle and drop in the Nuvoe Pod. It will magnetically snap into place! You only need to do this once.

Shake – Every time you refill, simply shake for 2 seconds to activate a cleaning cycle.

That’s it! Nuvoe will beep after 1 minute to let you know it finished purifying your water and cleaning your bottle.

Nuvoe’s small size, and easy to fit mounting system gives you so much choice on where you can use it! You can upgrade other water dispensing and storage devices around the home like filtered water pitchers, jugs & carafes, fridges with a dispensing water containers, and pet water accessories!

Switch Nuvoe to auto-mode by holding the power button for 5 seconds. It will now automatically turn on at a regular time interval to keep your water containers as clean as can be.

UV-C light can clean more than just water! Nuvoe is not permanently attached to your water bottle so you can take it out and use it to de-contaminate more things around the house like your phone, keys, or face mask.

Accessorise with a Nuvoe Bottle.

Nuvoe bottles are specially designed to work with the Nuvoe Pod. They feature a built-in Magnetic Anchor, come in a great variety of colours, and have a highly reflective internal surface to improve Nuvoe’s ability to freshen your water and clean your bottle.

The Nuvoe Bottle comes in two types. Choose between a high capacity non-insulated bottle or upgrade to an insulated version to keep your drinks cold all day long for an additional AU$14.00 (~US$10.00). This will happen in the post-campaign survey.

The Nuvoe Pod & Bottle bundle comes in a great range of colours and feature a colour-matched Pod! Coloured Pods will only be available with the Bottle bundle. There are three core colours: Slate, Hot Coral and Midnight, and we have already unlocked Chive and Candy as our first stretch goal. These colours will apply to all ‘Nuvoe Pod & Bottle’ reward tiers.

UV-C. How does it work?

UV-C light is the new industry standard technology for hospitals and high traffic public infrastructure. We have miniaturised this technology to a size that can fit inside your water bottle!

When shining UV-C light on bio-contaminants the light penetrates through cell walls disrupting nucleic acids and the structure of the cell’s DNA. This leaves them unable to perform vital cellular functions, rendering them ineffective.

We have taken this very same UV-C technology, optimised it and built it into the Nuvoe Pod. The Pod uses three (yes, three!) UV-C LEDs to get rid of those hidden nasties in your water. The LEDs are positioned to maximise the volume of water and bottle surface area the UV-C light reaches.

Pure Light at 275nm.

Each of Nuvoe’s LEDs emits light at a peak wavelength of 275nm, the optimal frequency for water-based UV-C applications. 275nm is also the optimal wavelength to target the most common bio-contaminant offenders found in our water bottles.

Why is 275nm more effective than other UV wavelengths? Other wavelengths either target the cell as a whole or specific compounds in the cell. UV-C specifically targets nucleic acids and DNA and requires 1,000x less power to achieve the same effect, and as such, are much safer and more efficient to use.

Other UV-C systems use 280nm based LEDs but Nuvoe’s LEDs shifts the peak wavelength down slightly from 280nm to 275nm resulting in up to 25% improvement in efficiency!

Chemical-free, filter-free & no single-use consumables!

UV-C does not rely on chemicals or filtration materials, and can therefore be used effectively and safely. We’re tired of the onerous repetitive cost and waste of single-use consumables and subscriptions. This means Nuvoe is an all-in-one, one-off-purchase solution.

Next-gen LED materials.

Old UV-C systems used mercury to generate UV-C light. Nuvoe’s LEDs are completely mercury-free. The core of our LEDs are made from a bio-compatible, non-toxic gallium nitride (GaN) which is often used in medical devices like implantable electrodes.

100% Ozone-free.

UV light at very small wavelengths can produce ozone but Nuvoe’s spectrum never falls below 250nm. Ozone can only be produced at wavelengths below 185nm meaning it’s completely ozone-free! (Ironically, UV-C at 275nm breaks the third oxygen atom that’s attached to any ozone, converting it back to straight oxygen!)

Positioned to perform.

Nuvoe is positioned in the middle of the bottle allowing the UV-C to work middle-out. Nuvoe can therefore achieve greater efficiency and coverage compared to being in the lid or the base of the bottle. This has the added advantage of also cleaning under the lid.

The power of 3.

Yes, two is better than one, but three is better than two! The Nuvoe Pod uses three UV-C LEDs to ensure that the UV-C light reaches everywhere inside your bottle.

Medical-grade materials & IPX8 construction.

Water is considered a food by the FDA and all contact materials should be classified as food-safe. We’ve taken this one step further. All materials in the Nuvoe Pod (and Bottle) are medical grade, food & water-safe, BPA-free and approved under the ISO:10993 bio-compatibility standard. It’s completely waterproof to the highest standard.

Our Story.

We love our refillable water bottles – we have one with us all the time – but they do come with their own annoyances & problems. We came across news articles & supporting papers that surprised us with how much bio-contamination lives inside our bottles and how municipal water isn’t as clean as we think it is. We also hate that funky smell and ‘off’ taste that can slowly develop throughout the day no matter how much we rinse it out; and the daily chore of washing to keep the water tasting great does become tiresome. We wanted to design a product that upgrades our existing water bottle with self-cleaning super powers and keep us using our bottles every day knowing the water is as clean and fresh as it can be.

The Nuvoe team has over 25 years combined experience delivering innovative technology solutions for start-ups in Australia and around the world and we are excited to bring this experience to our first Indiegogo campaign.

Shipping & Taxes

We don’t want to disappoint our backers with late deliveries or confusing shipping rates. That’s why we are partnering with global logistics providers to ensure seamless delivery of all rewards across the world.

We’ll collect all shipping, sales and VAT taxes after the campaign is over and before we ship. This will get your Nuvoe to you sooner.

Shortly before Nuvoe ships, we will email you a link so you can:

• Input your shipping address and latest delivery information;
• Pay shipping and sales/VAT/GST tax; and
• Finalise your colours and bottle type
• Order additional items like extra Magnetic Anchors, Pods and Bottles.

Below is a shipping estimate table based on the latest data – this excludes any sales tax (USA), VAT (UK & Europe), GST (Australia, Canada, NZ), or similar taxes and duties other countries may charge. We will strive to achieve the right balance of shipping speed and cost efficiency for our backers. We will remain 100% transparent regarding shipping costs and will pass on any potential savings to our backers as well.

There will be an additional incremental shipping cost for multipacks.

Risks & Challenges

We have spent a lot of time developing and testing the product to ensure you are getting the best performance and quality outcome we can deliver. We are also constantly working with our manufacturing partners to design out as much production risk as possible.

With that in mind we know there will be unforeseen issues as we take Nuvoe through its final stages of manufacture and production scaleup – and whilst we cannot fully plan for what we don’t know; we promise we will be transparent with our progress, clear in our communications and make decisions that ensure you are receiving a quality product that cleans your water and water bottle effectively all the time.

COVID-19 does represent a risk to our programme timeline, with international border closures and shipping delays for samples during tooling & production. We intend to be on the ground with our factories as we move into production and are hoping international borders will reopen early next year to allow this to happen. We have also accounted for non-typical delays in our schedule but we cannot precisely predict how this constantly evolving global issue will affect us.
