Boasting a slim exterior only 4.5 mm thick, Cardlax 2.0 is apersonal massager designed on the mechanism of Electrical Muscle Stimulation so it fully serves the needs of both relaxing and strengthening your muscles. We’re Cardlax Team and this is our 2nd Kickstarter project. After our first campaign, we believed Cardlax still had room for improvement and the funds we raised on Kickstarter made it possible for us to keep developing products so we decided to upgrade Cardlax and finally now we’re able to launch Cardlax 2.0! 

 

Cardlax 2.0 has been upgraded to include an extension cord for better usability and now has washable gel pads to last longer for you. Even though we added a wired mode, you can still use Cardlax wirelessly, too, to go hands-free. You can use Cardlax anywhere on your body to stimulate your muscles, though some of the best-suited areas are your waist, arms, calves, shoulder, and neck.

In order for a muscle to contract, your brain has to send an electrical impulse to neurons in muscle fibers. By applying electrode pads to different parts of muscle, Cardlax sends a small electrical impulse to a muscle that tells it to contract. That’s why EMS is particularly useful for people who have tense and sore muscle. 

The purpose of EMS devices are:

• To help build your muscle strength.
• To help with muscle recovery after exercise. 
• To help with improving your overall training efficiency.
• To help relieve pain.

Cardlax has four main massage-like modes: 

1. Knock

2. Malaxate

3. Rub

4. Knead

5. An unique fitness mode – Shred. 

The other three are combination modes:

Each one of them helps relieve your pain and stress with 10 adjustable intensity levels.  

In the Knock mode, short but strong pulses stimulate your muscles. Every 3 “knocks” are followed by an interval and this mode is perfect for soreness of muscles. Remember to turn down the intensity level if it starts to feel too strong.

The Malaxate mode causes small muscle contractions and it feels like the currents first hit the center of the stimulated area and then spread out to the surrounding area. The electric signals are sent out every second, gently soothing your pain.

If you change it to the Rub mode, you will have a similar sensation to Malaxate. In this mode, small and then stronger pulsations that last a total 6 seconds are alternating, with a stop of 2 seconds. Every few rounds are mixed with equally intense stimulations on the both sides.

The last one is Knead. This mode brings you the feeling of someone slowly but firmly kneading your muscles, with a contraction like your stimulated parts are being pulled. A round of kneading lasts around 2 seconds, helping your muscles recover better.

Besides, Cardlax is equipped with 3 more combined modes of the main ones, allowing you to maximize your relaxation and comfort, and delivering the most desirable massages to you. All of these modes are effective in reducing muscle tension and easing body soreness. 

When it comes to building muscle, Cardlax 2.0 offers a brand new fitness mode, Shred. Shred is specifically designed for people who want stronger, higher-frequency currents to get a full muscle contraction during or after their workouts. It starts with the feeling of slow taps on your body for the first few seconds, and then it gradually accelerates to a point where waves of short pulses go through your stimulated muscles and every wave becomes more powerful. Every few waves of stimulation are accompanied by a short gentle one. The deeper, more intense muscular contractions can have positive effects in building muscle and help you on your body building journey.

With the Cardlax 2.0, we have upgraded the material that holds the gel pads from plastic (Cardlax 1.0)  to synthetic leather. The leather is not only more comfortable for your skin, it also makes the pads easier to maintain and lasts longer. To remove dust and dirt from your gel pads, simply rinse with water and let them dry completely.

Gel pads for EMS units usually last for 4 to 6 months, and wear off after 50 – 60 rounds of use.

1. What brings Cardlax back for a second project?

The team of Cardlax is a small group of people who are passionate about bringing portable technology to people who need it, with our original design in 2018.

2. Will my rewards be different from your first project？

Most changes are the bits you can’t see, Cardlax itself has been upgraded, as well as material used for gel pads. Better programing of the device itself, material changed for longer usage.

3. When will I get it?

We promised shipping before Christmas, but delivery service is just so busy and we can’t guarantee you will have it for Christmas. But will send you a digital Christmas Card, so you can still have it for Christmas gift, a better late than never gift.

4.  What is Cardlax made out of?

The frame is made of aluminium, and the main body is made of Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) materia, suitable for skin contact.

5. Who can’t use it?

Who is pregnant, children under 12 etc. See instruction for more information.

6. Are there any side effects?

Skin irritations may occur in the application area. Headaches can occur if used on the head. Excessive use of the device may cause pain in the muscles and joints.

7. Is Electrical Massage safe?

Is totally safe! We have also obtained FDA Safety Certification. The voltage is too low to do any harm to the human body, and it is recommended by physical therapists and doctors for rehabilitation and muscular pain relief.

8.  You said you can use Cardlax on neck, but on Cardlax 1.0 page, neck is the prohited areas, why is that?

This was our mistake, by the neck of being the prohibited area, we mean the front part of the neck. But you can use Cardlax on the back of your neck, where there are muscles (back muscle) around, you can safely use Cardlax on the back of your neck.

9. How long does the battery last?

The rechargeable battery keeps Cardlax going for 7+ days.

10. How does it charge? And how long does it take?

We include a micro-USB cable in our box. You can charge Cardlax using your computer or any micro-USB charger. Takes 1.5 hours to fully charge, so we have decided to make it this way, so that the battery will have a longer life period.

11. How long do the Gel Pads last?

Gel pads for EMS units usually last for 4 to 6 months, and wear off after 50 – 60 rounds of use. Please note you don’t need to wash the gel pads every time you use and make sure to apply some water on the pads and dry it before applying, and rinse accordingly after use.

PS: We recommend washing gel pads after 10-20 times of use, and each time you wash count as one round.

12. Can we get more gel pads? (More add-ons?)

You can choose more gel pads in the add-on option, which we will send you a survey to collect add-on options and mailing addresses 10 days after the campaign ends.

13. How do I change the reward tier?

1) Click the menu icon in the top left of the page and select your profile name. Then, select the project.

2) Click “Manage pledge”,  then you’ll be able to choose a different reward tier.

3) Click “Next” to confirm your new reward.

14.How much does cardlax weigh?

Cardlax only weighs 1.3oz (36g).

15. Can we cancel the pledge?

You can cancel your pledge before the campaign ends. We do not offer refunds, returns, or exchanges on items received as Kickstarter rewards once the campaign ends. We appreciate your understanding of our policy and your support.

16. I have ordered more than one Cardlax, can I choose different colors? When and how?

The answer is yes you can, without doubt. You can choose the color you like. Once our campaign ends, you will receive a survey, which you will need to fill in your postal address and you can select colors and addons you like.

17. How does it feel to be massaged? Does it feel shocking?

Not at all! Bioelectricity exists in the human body, Cardlax is sending simulated electrical impulse. So using Cardlax won’t feel like being shocked.

18. Why is my Cardlax not working? The working light was on and flashing but nothing happened.

Our massager is an EMS unit, which delivers small, low-voltage electrical impulses to muscles to simulate massage effects; it is required to form a closed circuit in order for the device to start working. You need to place both of the pads to your preferred area of your skin, in order for the device to work.

19. What is the PledgeBox Survey?

PledgeBox is a third-party backer management platform that handles the survey for our campaign, after the campaign ends PledgeBox will send out a survey where you will be able to add any add-ons, update your shipping information.

It will take PledgeBox a few weeks to send out the survey.

20. Can I use Gel Pads from other devices on Cardlax?

Theoretically, Yes you can. But our gel pads are connected magnetically, we can’t guarantee gel pads from other devices will work on Cardlax.

21. How do I get more Gel Pads after the project ends?

Yes, we will have our online/Amazon store later on, you can get more gel pads over there.

22: What about VAT or import tax?

Our product price does NOT include VAT or import tax of your country. But we’ll try our best to declare a comparatively reasonable value for the product. Due to the customs policy of different countries, we CANNOT guarantee if there is a tax for you. From our previous experience, the following countries/regions haven’t been charged for import tax including the U.S, Singapore, HongKong, Japan, China, South Korea, and other EU countries such as Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom and Canada. There is a chance you might be taxed, but the chance of getting taxed is very low right now, our parcel is very small and is highly unlikely to be charged. Please be aware of that. 24.  What is your refund policy?

Orders from ‘backers’ are not considered as ‘purchases’, but rather a contribution with a ‘reward’ in return for believing in and for funding the project. That’s why refunds of contributions are not available for our project on this platform.

The support we get from our backers is what enables us to grow and choose crowdfunding as our business model.

25. Why do we have different feelings when we use Cardlax?

Under specific functions and intensity setting, EMS wherein the device for certain purposes may be more or less effective.
