Let’s Re-Open Spilt Milk Together!
Our Story
Spilt Milk is a local, sister-owned bakery focused on sharing our love of food with the community through our homemade pies and pastries baked with love, care, & local, seasonal ingredients. Meg and Molly started Spilt Milk in 2014, baking out of a shared kitchen in Chicago and selling their treats at local farmers markets and events. In 2016, we opened our storefront in Oak Park, IL and have been sharing food with the community ever since.

We love to cook and bake, but what really lights up our hearts is sharing our food with YOU all … the amazing community that has welcomed us with open arms and become like family to us over the years!
On February 17, 2021 … a kitchen flood forced the closure of our beloved bakery. Unfortunately, the damage has been extensive. This unfortunate situation is blossoming into a new opportunity however, and we have made the decision to move to a new location.
We will re-open in this new location “better than ever” … and ready to serve the Oak Park community for many years to come! Happily, our new shop will be just around the corner from our original home on Oak Park Avenue, so we will not have to say goodbye to the community we have come to love so much here in the Hemingway District!

Your contribution to our fundraising campaign will help us build a welcoming & warm space where we will make memories together for many years to come. Our goal is to have our shop up and running again by April, 2021. The repairs and updates to our new home at 811 South Blvd will include installing new flooring, pluming & electrical work to accommodate our kitchen equipment, installing signage on the front of the new store, and creating a cozy outdoor garden space for customers to enjoy when the weather is nice!
When our staff is able to be vaccinated this year, we look forward to welcoming you back into a space where you’ll enjoy warm cups of coffee, let your kids run around to play & color, read a good book, take someone special on a pie date, listen to music, have a good conversation with a dear friend, or whatever else brings you joy and happiness.

The New Space
We are getting ready to move our operations into our new home at 811 South Blvd! We hope to move in early March, and have already started working with local contractors and trades people to get the space up to snuff and ready for inspections in April.
We are excited to have found a space that lets us stay in the Hemingway District, which has become our home over the past five years.
Our new location has a beautiful outdoor patio space which we plan to turn into a community gathering space & garden. There will be beautiful flowers to enjoy, sidewalk chalk for the kiddos to decorate with, cafe tables for you to sit and enjoy your pie & coffee, soft music to set the mood, and of course plenty of laughter and love!
We look forward to collaborating with other local businesses, farms, & purveyors to continue to bring you food that is healthy, unique, & delicious <3
