Our Story  

In March 2021, a team of senior-level, minority executives formed Bright Road, Inc. to increase visibility and access to job opportunities, independent business opportunities and capital for black people.  

Bright Road has developed a high-powered technology solution to tackle the historical and debilitating damage sustained through racist systems and discriminatory practices. Our technology matches companies with a fast-growing database of talented, pre-qualified black professional and black-owned businesses, products, and services.

Why Now?

Never has the impact of racism and racist systems on black people been more evident. From the many merciless killings by law enforcement in clear public view that have gone unpunished, to the disproportionate rate of COVID infections and deaths, and the clear anger displayed with the flying of the confederate flag in the Capitol Building—black people have suffered from gross practices and continue to suffer in a way like no other race in America.

Conscious corporations and individuals are making pledges and commitments to address the ills of systemically racist practices to the tune of billions of dollars. Bright Road’s goal is to make sure no pledged dollars are left behind, job opportunities are fully accessible, and business to business deals are open to black people. 

The Impact

Bright Road will impact racist systems and practices that continue to negatively impact the Black community. The systems and practices are not always conscious or intentional, but they do exist, and they must end. 

As evidenced by staggering statistics, including the gap between Black and White home ownership being larger now than the year 1900 and the $2.7 trillion of underpaid wages to black people in the past 20 years due to pay inequity (both statistics from September 2020 Citigroup Report), the historical systems in the U.S. continue to produce grossly unequal results.  

Bright Road’s technology tracks corporate pledges to make sure funding reaches those they should reach; clears the path for companies to hire highly qualified black candidates; and, delivers a high-powered platform for large companies to engage, vet and contract with independently owned black businesses. 

Bright Road disrupts old systems to dismantle the wealth and equity gap plaguing black people.

How Can You Help?

The co-founders of Bright Road have invested personal funds to complete an initial buildout of the technology platform which is currently in process and is expected to be complete in spring/summer 2021.  We need your financial support, NOW to move to the next phase.

Given our sense of urgency to radically tackle racial inequity and systemic racism, Bright Road needs to immediately raise funds for data acquisition, data scientists and technical infrastructure.  

Bright Road’s initial membership targets are:
•    Fortune 500 companies
•    Other large majority companies
•    100,000 Black owned businesses 
•    Black Professional Organizations that collectively have a membership of 500,000 

The funding we receive will allow us to connect our system to the data sources and information that will power Bright Road and provide value to our members. 

Risks & Challenges

We have invested extensively in our technology and we are confident that our talented and passionate team will deliver and disrupt in a way that will advance the equity work that needs to be done to make a difference.  However, at this stage we cannot provide guarantees on the extent of impact. But with your support, we can certainly move faster and stand stronger!
