Buildy Bots coding board uses short-distance wireless technology(NFC) paired with coding blocks. This means coding can happen, without a computer or device! 

Each block represents an action that when placed in sequential order, will create simple to complex programs. Best of all, the blocks use pictures so coding can happen without reading.

About Buildy Bots

First imagined as UARO (Kid Robot) by RoboRobo, it was the first hands-on coding toy in South Korea. By creating an off-the-computer coding device, young children could build their creativity, hone their fine-motor skills, learn physical computing, and develop 21st century skills, all while playing.

For its North American debut, RoboRobo has partnered with Robolink, inc., renaming UARO to Buildy Bots, because this kit is perfect for little hands to build lots of robots!

About Robolink

Robolink was established in 2012 in San Diego, California to encourage students to engage with STEM. Our mission is to make STEM education accessible, engaging, and fun. The world is becoming more technology-driven, so it’s increasingly important that we cultivate the next generation of innovators and inventors and make technology accessible to all. We were the first to make a programmable educational drone as well as a self-driving car kit that teaches artificial intelligence.

Risks and challenges

Most of the risks and challenges are behind us. We have completed three successful Kickstarter projects (CoDrone, Zumi, and Rokit Smart,). Our team of educational specialists poured their lives into designing these kits and have been a huge success in Korea. Throughout the testing phase, we worked to perfect the kits based on the feedback of the users. These users had a blast working with our prototypes and were able to create some absolutely incredible robots. And now, Buildy Bots is ready for you. It’s for boys and girls, ages 5-10, and all it’s going to take is your support.

At this point, there is just two hurdles left:

Production: Many of the parts in this kit and curriculum are localized. We have very exacting standards, so creating the molds and manufacturing the components can be very expensive. Thankfully, we have identified some top-tier factory partners who can produce our kits with a very quick turnaround time.

In order to bring the cost down to an affordable amount, we have to order at least 1,000 kits from the manufacturer. To get there, we are counting on you. Shipping Risk: Global shipping and warehousing logistics is mind-boggling. We have been working with our shipping partner for a decade and now that logistics is going back to normal, we are really confident to achieve our goal and ship all backers in time.
