How to Install 

First, Attach The Rack To The Car 

1. Slide the rack into the hitch
2. Use the key to secure and lock the hitch 
3. Lower the rack into position

Then, Attach The Bike To The Rack 

1. Place the bike inside
2. Use the key to secure and lock the bike
3. Use the 2 straps to secure the bike further

Adjust the angle of the bike on the rack to open or close your trunk door as needed.

How to Uninstall

As a mechanical engineer, I like to create solutions. The LightBull started as a solution to a daily problem and grew into a passion. My wife and I are avid bikers, so about four years ago I bought a top-of-the-line two-bike rack. It was solid and secure, but also big and heavy—over fifty pounds. My wife was biking almost every day, but she couldn’t remove the rack from the garage wall and mount it on our SUV on her own. This gave me an idea: what if there was a bike rack that was just as secure, but also light, compact, and easy to use? 

I started drawing concepts, designing parts on Solidworks CAD software (Computer-Aided Design/Drafting), and building prototypes. The project grew, and to speed up the process I bought metalworking machinery to make the parts myself.

Three years, two patents, and twelve prototypes later, I was happy with the results and I started looking into the manufacturing process. Now, we can bring the next-generation bike rack to you with the LightBull.
