How It All Started

Since 2017, we at Pineapple Sunshine, celebrate childhood with whimsical prints, unique details, and amazing fabric quality. This completely female owned and operated small business was built from the ground up with a big dream and tireless work ethic.

At Pineapple we care for the environment as much as we do your little one’s comfort. Each of our small batch collections are made with care and love. Pima cotton has exceptional durability, softness and luster. High quality means an extended life for each garment! Peruvian pima production is harvested by hand and generally less impactful on the environment than other types of cotton production. By using this method, less waste is produced, which lessens the environmental impact of producing this type of fabric. 

A Brighter Future for Pineapple Sunshine

Pineapple Sunshine’s aim has always been to provide quality, sweet, affordable children’s clothing. After 4.5 years of hard work and promising results, suddenly COVID was shutting everything down. The global economy is facing many challenge and as a result our supply chain has been affected.  Manufacturing and shipping costs suddenly increased overnight as well as many delays.  But even with these challenges, we are working very hard to find new ways to adjust.  We have so much love and support from our current customers that we wanted to give new customers the chance to see our unique styles and superior quality.  We are so appreciative of your loyalty!

Where Is the Money Going?

With your help, we will be able to keep our employees working, meet the minimum orders from our fabric mills and fund our next production orders with our manufactuers in Peru. Our next collection will arrive in February for Spring ’22. You will also help us promote our e-commerce and social channels.

Behind The Brand

There are so many amazing people behind our brand from photographers, graphic and print designers, showroom managers and more.  We are a self funded company that has worked incredibly hard the last 8 years to build our company.  So much love and effort has been pouring into creating something special for our customers.

About Shanlee

Hi I’m Shanlee, the founder and creator of both Little Birdies Boutique and the Pineapple Sunshine brand: two go-to brands in the American children’s wear market. As both a fashion designer and business woman, I have built both brands with a mission to provide premium products while incorporating unique details, whimsical prints, and superior fabric quality.

After spending nearly a decade working in key fashion and retail roles for brands such as Catherine Malandrino and Tory Burch, I launched a children’s boutique in Georgetown, D.C. in 2013. I launched Pineapple Sunshine a few years later with an aim to provide quality, sophisticated, sweet, affordable children’s clothing. Since then, I have been creating unique designs and offering premium quality products that are loved by mothers and children throughout the US and abroad.

Shanlee believes in quality that not only looks cute but lasts through many washes and wears. These whimsical, yet classic designs are long-lasting enough to be passed down, yet fun enough to be worn every day. Starting from Pineapple Sunshine’s tropical brand name, Shanlee gets her design inspiration from bright and happy colors of the beach and warm sunny days.

Risks and Challenges

The risks are minimal.  We have been working with our manufacturer for 5 years now and have already placed our production order for Spring ’22 and Fall ’22.  The items on our perks list are available to ship as soon as the campaign ends and we will be available for any questions or communication about your contribution.
