8bottle is an American technology company focusing on the design and development of smart water bottles. Founded in 2019 by Ahmed Elsokary and Mamoon Braiga, the sports and fitness enthusiasts bonded over the importance of hydration. Inspired by the recommended 8 cups per day, 8bottle was born for consumers with busy lifestyles to help reach their hydration goals. Both passionate about supporting a greater cause, their partnership with The Water Project means that they have a positive impact on the world.

The funding will help us to go to expedite the production phase of 8bottle. We have already started the process of producing the molds required to make the bottle. The funds will also help refine our app and add all the features that we’d like our users to have once we ship the 8bottle.

Prototyping 

After going through a rigorous testing period we found a combination of features that made a great smart bottle. This meant designing sipping verification technology that detects human lips for accuracy, LED display and wireless charging for everyday convenience as well as a rouged waterproof exterior so this was the only water bottle you would ever need.

8bottle is made with stainless steel double wall vacuum tank covered with premium plastic coating that’s designed to last for at least 5 years of normal use. 8bottle is also IPx6 waterproof rated which can survive water and dust. Long lasting rechargeable battery. Mercury free.

Plastic bottles require up to 700 years to dissolve. And 80% of plastic bottles never get recycled. By carrying 8bottle around, you’ll be helping to eliminate these issues.

Our manufacturer is eco-friendly while manufacturing with sustainable materials any waste is reduced through remanufacturing, reuse and recycling.

Our distribution partners all have an enterprise wide approach to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by optimizing their supply chain, network of pick up and deliveries. They also operate with fuel efficient fleets.

Risks & Challenges

Logistics is one of the challenges that we anticipate  to face due to COVID-19 possible effecting supply chain and shipping. Our prototype and pilot testing phase show great indication that all features and software have responded well according to our metrics, the challenge would be to transition from pilot testing to production within the timeline.
