3rd Gen ZuperDAC

In 2015 and 2018, we introduced our ZuperDAC and ZuperDAC-S respectively on Indiegogo. We are so excited to introduce our latest 3rd generation members ZuperDAC Pro and ZuperDAC Max today. They inherit the same design philosophy to achieve the highest audio performance in the smallest form factor. However, don’t be fooled by their tiny sizes, they support Hi-Res Lossless audio like nothing else. ZuperDAC Pro supports 3.5mm single-ended audio output whereas ZuperDAC Max supports either 3.5mm single-ended or 4.4mm balanced audio output in the same design.

It receive digital audio bitstream through USB and convert it to high fidelity audio. We will find all the missing details in the original recording that you have missed. They give your a new way to rediscover your music.

DAC and Capabilities

They are both using the latest ESS High Performance SoC DAC technology with sampling frequencies support up to PCM 768kHz (16x CD) and DSD 22.5MHz (8x SACD, aka DSD512). They also have built-in MQA Renderer so you can enjoy your Tidal Master contents with full MQA decode. They are so tiny that you can carry around and instantly turns your smartphone into a true HiFi digital audio player.

You will be surprised by the improvement with both devices. They utterly transform your music listening experience to the next level. With an isolated low noise power converter, it blocks all unwanted interference from your PC/Mac and smartphone. The Hyerstreaming ESS DAC recreate the recorded music with crystal clear clarify. Their 120dB SNR and 0.0003% THD performance are rarely seen in such a small portable dongle design. 

Fit All Your Needs

Both products come with bundled USB-C cable and USB-A adapter so you can connect easily to your smartphone or PC/Mac. For iPhone/iPad with lightning interface, you can use our lightning cable (sold separately) for the connection. With compliance to USB Audio Class 2 high speed, they work on all popular OS platform like Android, iOS Linux, macOS and Windows 10/11. You can connect the audio output directly to your headphone or HiFi system.

The Differences

ZuperDAC Pro supports one single-ended 3.5mm audio output. It has an autodetect circuity to determine the proper output voltage level (1Vrms/2Vrms) to suit your headphone loading. ZuperDAC Max supports either single-ended 3.5mm or balanced 4.4mm audio output. There is a boost button for you to select the different audio output level (1Vrms/2Vrms or 3Vrms/5Vrms) to fit your headphone loading needs. The balanced output eliminate all unwanted ambient cable noise in the output path with exceptional clarity.

Less is More

Both products are based on a minimalist design pattern, simple and elegant. The black aluminum chassis provide strong protection and a matte smooth finish. We keep the use of LED status useful enough and not to be annoying. blue for standard definition content (48kHz or below) or idle, red for high definition content (above 48kHz) and magenta for MQA content. There is an additional green LED indicator at ZuperDAC Max to indicate boost mode.

Risk and Challenges

Both ZuperDAC Pro and ZuperDAC Max have already completed all design verifications and have received CE, FCC and RoHS certification. We have already finished the first production batch and will be ready to ship once the campaign is completed.
