Very Manageable and Easy to Carry

Hive’s estimated packed dimensions will be around 33″ x 6″ x 6″ and only 16 pounds. Compared to any other free-standing hammock stands on the market (other than our Cricket which weighs less than 10 lbs and only holds one hammock), these specs are leagues more impressive, and are due to the engineered truss system.

There are very few hammock stands on the market that weigh under 20 lbs, and NONE that small that can hold two hammocks.

Holds TWO Hammocks, Side by Side

It is pretty difficult to be comfortable with two people in a hammock for more than a short amount of time, no matter how much you love the other person! Hive allows for two separate hammocks to hang in close proximity. Now, co-sleeping is possible in hammocks. Spouses can sleep next to each other indoors or out. Parents can keep a closer eye on their child. Friends can camp under the same tarp.

Not only that, Hive accommodates extra-long (12′ or longer) hammocks and bridge hammocks.

Patented Truss System

Once you use an engineered hammock stand, you won’t go back. While other stands have to get their stability from weight and bulk, Hive’s engineered truss system allows for it to be extremely stable, despite how light it is. For example, one person can hang safely on one side of Hive without fearing it will tip over.

The patented truss system also allows for the stand to be completely free-standing (no staking required).

Who is behind Hive?

Cal Fenton is the inventor of this miracle hammock stand. He is also an avid adventurer and outdoor lover who discovered the magic of sleeping in a hammock years ago. He’s suffered from chronic back pain caused by a lifetime of hard labor, but hammocks have always brought him more relief than anything else. In 2015, Cal designed a lightweight hammock stand he could use to hammock wherever he pleased. With that tiny little bi-pod hammock stand, YOBOgear was born. 

Since then, Cal has become a leader, innovator, and expert in the industry, inventing the lightweight Freedom Hammock Stand, as well as doing what some had said was impossible: creating the first packable free-standing hammock stand on the market, the Cricket.

Risks & Challenges

We are working with our manufacturers to get the very best estimate on how long it will take to build our gear. However, unexpected delays may happen due to worker quarantine or supply chain issues. We’ve overcome this with some of our other products and ultimately our customers have found it worth the wait. Cal has lots of experience sourcing materials and communicating with manufacturers. In fact, he has three different manufacturers lined up, just in case something unexpected happens.
