With your support, we can launch Earthed, the nature skills platform where Nature is our teacher.
Short Summary
For the past 2 years, the Initiative Earth charity has been developing a nature skills platform with game-changing potential that can help anyone, anywhere, access the skills, networks and funds they need to restore their local environment, grow food and connect to the joy of learning from and for nature..
But, now we need your help. We are just weeks away from launch and need to secure at least £60,000. By supporting us today, you can become a Founding Member, get early access to the platform, access the community areas and kickstart a global movement of nature-focused restorers, growers and builders.
Our Story:
The Initiative Earth Charity started when we launched the #MyEcoResolution campaign with Cara Delevingne in order to increase conversation, compassion and action in the face of the climate crisis. Since 2019, thousands of people have engaged in the EcoResolution campaigns and shared their desire to build healthier, ecologically thriving communities.
We learnt through EcoResolution that there is a huge gap between awareness and meaningful action. This is because most people do not have access to the skills, funds and networks they need to become part of the solution to the ecological crisis.
So, our small team of women set out to build a mechanism that removes the obstacles to restored ecosystems, that unites people in positive action, and that makes nature and nature skills, accessible to all.
Why Ecosystem Restoration?
There has never been a more urgent need to revive damaged ecosystems than now. In the past
60 years, 60% of the Earth’s ecosystem has been degraded and 69% of wildlife has been lost.
Healthy ecosystems are the foundation for human and planetary health. The healthier our ecosystems are, the healthier the planet – and its people. The United Nations reports that one billion hectares of land must be restored in the next eight years and that the only way to achieve this is to enable local people everywhere to take action. However, there are barriers to action.
This is where Earthed comes in. Earthed removes obstacles by providing access to the knowledge, community and funds people need to actively participate in the global restoration movement.
Why Nature Skills?
Nature skills benefit the planet, bringing more life and health to everyone and everything on it. When you learn about nature’s systems and act to help them thrive, you’re putting your nature skills into practice. And you can do it in all sorts of ways: caring for houseplants, farming regeneratively, harvesting rainwater, organising meet-ups —and so much more.
Through Earthed courses, you can learn all types of nature skills including permaculture, biodynamics, earthship building, river restoration, coral regeneration, earth democracy, rainwater harvesting, composting, no dig organic gardening, regenerative agriculture, seed saving, indigenous land stewardship and so much more.
Why Earthed?
Earthed is practical, solution-oriented and science-backed. We transcend politics to unite people through purpose-driven action, rather than through rhetoric. Earthed will galvanise and support ecosystem restoration at a global scale by providing access to the essential skills, networks and funds needed to start and scale local projects.
On the platform, members can access inspiring courses led by Nature Teachers from around the world. They can learn how to grow food, restore their local river, harvest rainwater, start a farmers market, urban garden, reforest, increase biodiversity, prevent droughts or floods, defend against wildfires or desertification and so, so much more.
Earthed is about celebrating and sharing traditional knowledge and those who hold it. The platform will be free for those who need it. Members’ monthly donations will support Earthed Teachers as well as establish the Earthed Action Fund, from which members can apply for grants in order to start and scale their restoration projects.
As well as funding, community is also essential for the long term success of restoration projects. That is why Earthed members will also be able to access community forums and live events in order to share knowledge, offer support, ask questions and share ideas.
Why we need your support
Earthed is part of the Initiative Earth Charity. In order to launch, we need your help to raise the funds we need to finalise the courses and the platform and ensure we give the best possible service to our early members. But, more than money, we are also hoping to secure a core cohort of like-minded people, our Founding Members, who are going to come on this ambitious, solution-oriented, nature-focused journey.

The Impact
Without Earthed people cannot access the skills, networks or funds they need to actively participate in the restoration and protection of nature.
Without your support we will struggle to fulfil our potential of becoming an open-access, interactive learning platform that empowers people not through narrative, but through the power of tangible skills and community. With your support we will enable people over the world to learn about growing their own nutritious food, regenerating their local environments, lowering the cost of living, prevent wildfires and droughts, regreen deserts, restore coral reefs and so much more!
Over the past 2 years we have poured our hearts into filming 40 courses, developing a beautiful brand, and fundraising to ensure that Earthed can be open access whilst having a premium platform that offers the highest value and learning experience for people, globally.
Risks & Challenges
Members will be the life blood of Earthed – they are the ones who have impact, they are the ones whose monthly donation enable our work to continue. One of the greatest risks to Earthed is not being able to establish the member base we need. But, since the start we have been working to overcome this challenge by:
- Not sacrificing on the quality of the platform or courses but rather investing into a high-quality, user-oriented platform with beautifully produced courses focused on being engaging, inspiring and empowering;
- Gathering celebrity advocates including Cara Delevingne, Georgia Jagger and Sienna Miller who will help to spread the word and make ecosystem restoration accessible and aspirational;
- Partnering with organisations like the UN’s Decade on Ecosystem Restoration in order to be aligned with a supportive network of mission-aligned organisations;
- Fundraising to support us in our start up years, rather than being wholly reliant on member donations.
Other Ways You Can Help
Of course we would like you to share Earthed and the crowdfunding campaign via social media. But most importantly, we would like you to share it by word of mouth: tell your friends, family, colleagues and neighbours that you’ve become a member of Earthed because you’re going to learn the skills and knowledge to start actively regenerating your local environment, and tell them you’d like them to join you.
Thank you for all your help and support!
Together, every city, river, balcony and ocean can burst with life
