Abbiamo n cantiere un nuovo progetto: un film d’inchiesta sulla ricerca militare “duale”

  OVALmedia is an internationally known production company that has been making award winning documentaries for over 20 years.

Now there is a new project in the pipeline: an investigative film about military “dual” research.

  Ci serve il  sostegno di tutti per realizzare il primo film documentario di 90 minuti sui bio-laboratori.

  We need everyone’s support to make the very first 90-minute documentary film on bio-labs.

La nostra campagna / Our campaign

  La ricerca scientifica militare non si dà limiti: il suo scopo è costruire l’arma perfetta prima degli altri, il soldato perfetto prima degli altri. Ogni progresso è pensato come strumento di offesa e di difesa allo stesso tempo.  “Se non lo faccio io lo farà il mio nemico, tanto vale che lo faccia io!”. 

Questo film documentario di 90min vuole raccontare alcune storie esemplari, sconosciute al grande pubblico, relative ad alcuni bio-laboratori sparsi in diverse località del mondo. Vuole mettere al centro della disamina gli effetti misconosciuti e spesso nefasti del cosiddetto gain of function. Il guadagno o perdita di funzione (loss of function) è l’attività che da 40 anni almeno ha permesso di ingegnerizzare i virus, cioè potenziarli o depotenziarli lavorando sul loro DNA, per poterli utilizzare in un secondo momento come arma. Oggi questa tecnica è appannaggio di TUTTE le grandi potenze mondiali, nessuna esclusa.

A tal fine, viaggeremo con esperti altamente qualificati in laboratori biologici sparsi in tutto il mondo e ne osserveremo l’impatto sulla comunità locale e globale.

  Military scientific research has no limits. Its aim is to build the perfect weapon before anyone else will, to be the first to create the ultimate soldier.  Every success is conceived as an instrument of offense as well as defense, the underlying mantra is: ‘If I don’t do it, my enemy will, so I might as well do it.’

This 90min documentary will uncover a story untold and unknown to the larger public, about bio-laboratories scattered around the world. The focus is on the unrecognized and often harmful effects of the so-called gain of function. Gain of function (and loss of function) is the activity that for the past 40 years has made it possible to engineer viruses, i.e. to enhance or depotentiate them by working on their DNA. This technique can transform viruses into deadly weapons and ALL the world’s major powers feel entitled, even obliged to undertake it. 

To do this we will travel with highly trained experts to bio labs scattered around the world and observe the impacts on the local and global community.

  EGYPT:  Before the pandemic of 2020, the largest US military laboratory in Africa and the Middle East was found in Cairo.  We will investigate the many strange epidemics that developed in the area surrounding the lab and the adverse effects that occurred due to the medicines administered to contain the contagions.   SIERRA LEONE: Intorno ad un altro laboratorio militare americano nel 2014 è scoppiata un’epidemia di Ebola. Nel  dimostrare il naturale “salto di specie” del virus gli scienziati del laboratorio  hanno individuato il “paziente zero”, un bambino piccolo venuto a contatto con un pipistrello.  Parleremo con il giornalista locale che ha scoperto che il bambino aveva in realtà la malaria, impossibile da confondere con l’Ebola.

  SIERRA LEONE:  Around another US military laboratory in 2014, an Ebola epidemic broke out. To prove the natural  “spill over” scientists working in that lab  claimed to have found ‘patient zero’, a young child who had come into contact with a bat.  We will speak to the local journalist who discovered that the child had in fact developed malaria, which is impossible to confuse with Ebola.

  MARYLAND. Analizzeremo il motivo per cui, prima della pandemia, nel luglio 2019, il biolab di Fort Detrick è stato chiuso per alcune settimane dopo che una strana polmonite si è diffusa tra gli anziani di una ex casa di riposo militare e tra gli acquirenti di una marca di sigarette elettroniche appena lanciata sul mercato statunitense.

  MARYLAND:  We will look into why, prior to the pandemic, in July 2019, the Fort Detrick biolab was shut down for a few weeks after a strange pneumonia spread among the elderly at a former military retirement home and among purchasers of a newly launched brand of electronic cigarettes.

  CINA. Dopo aver vietato anche solo di dire che forse il Covid-19 proveniva da un bio-laboratorio, oggi in tanti lo sostengono senza più essere censurati.  Come mai? Che cosa si è fatto per anni a Wuhan? Come hanno interagito Americani e Cinesi nel laboratorio costruito sotto l’egida dell’OMS?

  CHINA:  Not long ago it was forbidden to even mention the possibility that Covid-19 came from a bio-lab. Now we want to openly discuss it and look at the facts. What research happened exactly in Wuhan prior to the pandemic? How did the Americans and Chinese interact in the laboratory built under the auspices of the WHO?

  ITALIA: Alla fine rispondiamo alla domanda su dove i militari abbiano trasferito il laboratorio egiziano nel 2019. Lo hanno spostato in Italia, a Signonella, solo due mesi prima dello scoppio della pandemia.  Oggi, nel 2023, il PNRR prevede di costruire un bio-laboratorio per ogni regione italiana. Per questo è nato un movimento di protesta, che a Pesaro ha ottenuto una prima vittoria: le istituzioni hanno abbandonato l’idea di costruirne uno anche in seguito alla recente alluvione.

  ITALY:  And finally we answer the question where the military moved the Egyptian laboratory in 2019. They moved it to Italy, Signonella, only two months before the pandemic broke out.  And today, in 2023, the PNRR plans to build one bio-lab per every Italian region.  This is why a protest movement was born, which in Pesaro achieved an initial victory : the institutions abandoned the idea of building one also because the recent floods.

Il valore / The value

  I virus sono diventati un tema principe nell’agenda dei governi e nella vita di tutti. Ma molto di rado viene affrontata la questione dei bio-laboratori e della ricerca duale, ovvero, la ricerca militare volta a costruire armi-biologiche in barba ai trattati internazionali. Se tutti ne sapessimo di più potremmo capire che cosa succede intorno a noi e scegliere come porci.

Così abbiamo fatto coi film precedenti : “TrustWHO”, che parla di come l’OMS (W.H.O) ha gestito e volutamente ingigantito la “peste suina”. “Corona-Film Prologo”,  (realizzato grazie ad un crowdfunding) uno dei primi film sulle misure anti-pandemiche, che nella prima settimana su YouTube ha avuto più di 1mln di visualizzazioni per poi essere immediatamente censurato. Questi film hanno fornito, per primi, elementi di conoscenza, chiavi interpretative, nuove prospettive su tematiche messe all’angolo dai più importanti mezzi di comunicazione.

  Viruses have become a major topic on the agenda of governments and in everyone’s lives. But very rarely is the issue of bio-laboratories and dual research, i.e., military research aimed at building biological weapons in defiance of international treaties, addressed. If we all knew more, we could understand what is going on around us and choose how to position ourselves.

This is what we did with previous films such as ‘TrustWHO’, which is about how the WHO (W.H.O) handled and magnified the ‘swine plague’. “Corona-Film Prologue”, (made through crowdfunding) which had more than 1mln views in its first week on YouTube and was then immediately censored. These films were the first to provide elements of knowledge, keys to interpretation, new perspectives on cornered issues.
