Design Process

Our team are all outdoor enthusiasts, especially when it comes to fishing. However, we find it difficult to enjoy this activity during the winter due to the heavy clothing that restricts our movements. In 2018, we developed Sailwind – a lightweight, unrestricted, and warm enough gear that allows us to engage in outdoor sports during the winter.

When we first introduced the Sailwind® Heated Vest 1.0, it was a hit among our fishing friends despite its simplicity. Soon, golf players, camping enthusiasts, and others joined our circle and adopted the vest. With the success of the vest, we founded our business and began taking our product line seriously. 

Over the years, we continued researching and developing better heating elements for our heated jackets, always striving to provide our customers with the best technology. Recently, we discovered a new material that provides more uniform warmth than the old technology we used, graphene. More importantly, the new carbon nanotube technology also avoids potential overheating at bends in the graphene.

This discovery led us to create Winter-Defenders Heated Jackets & Vests. These jackets and vests incorporate the most advanced carbon nanotube heating technology with a brand-new design. We have improved the waterproof and breathability performance of the outer shell material and replaced ordinary cotton with sustainable Thinsulate™ Insulation. Our goal is to create an intelligent jacket that regulates temperature, is waterproof, and is wear-resistant, making it the perfect companion for outdoor activities in various temperature settings.

Design Draft

Based on customer feedback, we have moved the battery pocket from the back of the jackets to the right side of the front pocket, so you won’t feel anything when you lean on your back with this new jacket. We have also added an inner small pocket in the right pocket to prevent the USB line from getting in the way when you try to put your hand into or grab something out. In addition, we have relocated the heat button from the front chest to the bottom for the best convenience of our female customers.

We use top-quality materials and technology but refuse premium pricing. We are committed to maintaining this standard in the future, but we need your help. Every pledge counts!

Once we reach 1,000 backers, we will issue a purchase order to the factory ahead of time, and we may be able to start delivering the heated jackets as early as November 2023. The estimated shipping cost is $10 – $20 USD (slightly higher for international orders). Batteries may be shipped separately depending on the shipping policy in each area.

·Hassle-Free Size Exchanges

If you wish to exchange your jackets for any reason, we’ll happily do that. And we charge no restocking fee for size exchanges, but you’ll have to pay for the two-way shipping.  Because we are offering our jackets at highly discounted prices, we won’t be able to accept returns except for quality issues. Please make sure the items are unworn and unwashed. Also, all items must be in the condition you received them, with all hang tags still attached. We guarantee that our jacket is built to last. However, in the rare event that something goes wrong, we offer a one-year warranty for the heated jacket and vest to cover any necessary repairs.
