Bana’s Korean Tarot Cards are Back!

Re-imagined with new Indemand exclusive Mini Tarot Cards and traditional 24 Season Oracle Cards!

Greetings from BANA— an illustrator who creates Korean stories. I was born and raised in Korea, and I have always had a deep admiration for Korean stories, traditions, and mythology. I started working on this project after discovering all the different life lessons that can be learned through tarot cards, and all of their similarities when compared with the traditional Korean faith.  Just like tarot cards, there are a variety of deep, meaningful symbols that are deeply ingrained in Korean folk beliefs and traditions. I am deeply honored to be able to share the beauty of traditional Korean folklore and legends, which were an important part of my childhood, with Kickstarter. I have poured my heart and soul into the creation of these tarot cards, so I hope that every backer who supports my project will feel that same warmth and passion.

Mini Tarot Cards

Exclusive to Indemand!
This mini cards are 89*59mm, This is Smaller than the previous paper cards, which is 120*70mm and can fits in one hand. These mini cards have been upgraded to core black paper, which is sturdier, thinner, and more vivid in color compared to the normal paper card material.

24 Season Oracle Cards

Guidebook Included
I’ve been working on custom cards themed around the ’24 seasons of the year’ also known as ‘Jeolgi’ in Korea, following the seasons of the Lunar calendar. The 24 season oracle cards start with a simple question: “what if you analogized your life to the flow of the year?” .

If you usually consult tarot to help you with something you want to do or a problem you’re having in life, why not use the seasonal oracle cards at the end to help with flow and timing? The 24 seasonal cards are themed around the seasons, weather, and customs we’re most familiar with, are detailed with simple interpretations for a more intuitive interpretation, detailed with beautiful Korean.  

The backs of the cards feature the traditional constellation star chart developed in the Joseon era by King Sejong. The design utilizes the four cardinal signs of the zodiac to further enhance the meaning of the seasons. I hope it brings good energy to everyone who sees it 🙂

The size is 120*70mm, the same as the existing tarot paper deck, and comes in a sturdy cardboard box.

24 Season Guidebook

This book contains interpretations of the Korean texts that are displayed on the 24 season cards, as well as basic timings of the seasons and their key meanings. The book also includes stories about the customs, origins, and stories of seasonal blessings, so that you can enjoy reading the cards even though they are a new concept to you. (The book is included with the purchase of the cards!)

The English translation is still being worked on, and therefore we are currently displaying the Korean version of the book below! (All indemand backers will receive the ENGLISH version).

24 Season Diary

Exclusive to Indemand!
The diary also follows the same  24 Season theme. In addition to the basic PU cover, you will receive 4 additional covers that can be changed to match the seasons (Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall).

The diary is 128*182mm, the cover is made in luxury 210g Rendezvous paper for a more elegant feel, and the inner paper is 120g Mojo to prevent the pictures from showing through on the alternate page.

The designs inside the diary are still being worked on, and more previews will be uploaded when they are finished. 

24 Seasons Free Gift!

Backers of the 24 season cards or diary will receive two Indiegogo-exclusive transparent constellation cards (bookmarks). They are 86*54mm business card size.
 

Paper Tarot Cards

Paper cards are the most commonly used form of tarot cards. They are the thinnest and softest of the three cards. 

The paper cards are 120mm x 70mm and are printed on 330mg art paper.

The paper cards come in a sturdy cardboard box.
 

Holographic Tarot Cards 

The holographic deck makes the illustrations on the cards shine, and appear more colorful! On this deck, the titles of the cards appear in KOREAN and are written vertically on the top in the traditional oriental way.

The holographic cards are 148mm x 70mm and are printed with a holographic coating.

*Holographic cards do not shuffle as smoothly as paper tarot cards due to the high friction from the coating. For a smoother shuffle, the paper cards are recommended. Holographic cards are recommended for those who want to experience the artwork in a visually striking and beautiful way.
 

We will provide a Guidebook(Eng) and Screen protector for the Hologram Card additionally because the holographic cards are all titled in Korean.
As an added bonus, the holograms come in a sturdy cardboard paper box for easy storage.

This exclusive velvet pouch is large enough to hold all types of Bana tarot cards. At 130*200mm, it’s big enough to hold a set of mini cards, as well as paper cards and long holographic cards. It is available in deep red.
 

Commentary Guide Book Add-on

The exclusive commentary guide book is 240 pages long and contains detailed explanations about the tarot cards based upon the Universal Waite tarot standards.  It describes in detail the meanings of the traditional Korean symbolism found within the illustrations, and more information about the origin or legends behind it.  The book has a fabric-like high-quality paper cover that gives a unique texture, and the inner cover is printed with 28 constellations of the East, that brings good luck just by having it!

Portable Guide Book

In addition to the main commentary guidebook add-on, you’ll receive a card an easy-to-carry summary, and mobile commentary. For the mobile commentary, you will receive a card with a QR code.
 

Traditional Korean Art Collection Add-on

The traditional Korean art collection is a book produced in the traditional oriental way, and contains a full page illustration of the 78 cards without any borders or frames. This book contains a small summary of the card, and simply displays the illustrations of the tarot cards in beautiful high quality.
