Help restore the Finger Lakes’ legendary Go-Kart & Mini-Golf destination for the whole community.
Imagine This:
The sun is setting over Seneca Lake on a clear, warm night. Laughter ripples over from the mini-golf course nearby, mixing with the rhythms of the live band on stage. Your friend comes over to you, smiling and giddy from their go-kart ride, and invites you to grab a bite to eat before challenging you to a round of bocce ball.
You take a deep breath – it feels like you’re in your very own backyard with your community around you, experiencing joy all together. You’re at The Yard FLX – where all things are fun!
This is our vision for The Yard FLX, and we hope you’ll be a part of it!
What We Need & What You Get
The Yard FLX is gearing up to be the ultimate destination for fun in the Finger Lakes region, including:
- two go-karts tracks
- an 18-hole mini-golf course with water features
- up to four food trucks at a time
- two bars
- a driving range
- a live events stage
- yard games galore
- outdoor social seating, bonfires, and Plinko boards – all in one place!
We’re happy to share that this vision is SO close to being realized. We’re trimming the hedges at our mini-golf course and pulling weeds from the driving range as we speak! The property is purchased, the tracks are ready and waiting to be repaved, and the grounds are mere months from being revived – All we need is your support!
To ensure we’re ready for our Grand Opening in May 2024, we’ve set a goal of $75,000 for our start-up fund. This support will help cover the cost of:
- electrical and property upgrades
- go-kart track clean-up and repair
- new go-karts
- landscaping
- and mini-golf equipment.
If we exceed that amount and raise additional funds, there’s even more fun to be had in 2024! Here’s what we’ll do if we exceed our goal:
- New driving range – additional $30,000
- Extra bathrooms – additional $50,000
- Six slick-track go-karts – additional $40,000
- Cigar bar humidor – additional $5,000
- Covered patio – additional $15,000
- Heaters for winterized driving range – additional $5,000
- Winterize indoor spaces – additional $5,000
- Community give-back program for subsidized tickets – $25,000
All this will be happening in 2024 if we’re able to raise our stretch goal of $250,000. Let’s make it a reality!
And here’s the funnest part – for your incredible support, we’ve got some fantastic perks waiting! From exclusive Yard FLX swag to your very own go-kart whirring around the track with your name or business proudly displayed – the choice is yours. Every contribution, big or small, brings us closer to the finish line!
The Impact
We see the Yard FLX as more than just a fun park; it’s a community hub, a place for connecting with one another and making memories together. We’re not just reviving an old go-kart track; we’re bringing back the heyday of family fun, of summer nights out with your friends, of time away from our screens, living life to the fullest. Your support helps fulfill our essential human need for connection and belonging for the entire community.
And The Yard FLX is also a game-changer for the Finger Lakes region. Nestled in Watkins Glen, our park is strategically positioned to meet the growing demand for recreational activities in the region for locals and visitors alike. The Yard FLX will help increase tourism to the area and boost engagement for our partner organizations, such as local hotels, travel agencies, wineries, the local Veterans Association, and the Watkins Glen International Speedway. Your contribution isn’t just an investment in us; it’s an investment in the community and the region’s economic growth.
Risks & Challenges
Transparency is our middle name! With each level of support, you’ll get behind-the-scenes updates on the project as it develops. While we’re ready to tackle any obstacle head-on, we know challenges might pop up and you’ll be the first to hear about it! Your trust means the world to us, and we’re committed to keeping you in the loop every step of the way.
With a proven track record and a passionate team, we’ve got a solid plan to overcome any challenges that come our way. To date, $550,000+ in funding has already been secured towards the realization of this project. Aimee Barton, the new owner of The Yard FLX, has 25 years in the mortgage industry and has made a very successful business based on effective marketing, great customer service, and knowledge of what motivates people. In contrast to previous uses of this property, we aim to welcome all our community members, making this a resource for everyone – for families, individuals, and groups, for children, teens, and adults alike!
We aim to attract 30,000 visitors to The Yard FLX during our 2024 season, drawing from the 410,000 people living in a one-hour radius and 1.2 million annual visitors to the area. With limited direct competition in the vicinity, our park will enjoy a favorable market position and attract both local residents and tourists exploring the region. There are approximately 995,377 annual visitors to the Watkins Glen State Park and 275,000 annual visitors to the Watkins Glen International Speedway. With an average of 4,000 cars driving past The Yard FLX location per day, we require only 2% of those travelers to stop and purchase one activity for $20 per person during the months of May to September 2024 to meet our goals.
The Yard FLX is primed to succeed, and all we need is you!
