Fire / Rebuild Salam Orphanage: A Safe Haven for Tabanan’s Children

Introduction:

Salam Orphanage in Tabanan is more than just a shelter; it’s a home and school for children whose parents cannot afford to feed and clothe them. These families are often tenant farmers among Bali’s poorest, some children are even orphaned. The Rotary Club Canggu has been a steadfast supporter, assisting with funding, managing, and completing building projects over the years.

Recent Incident:

Tragically, the boys’ dormitories at Salam Orphanage were destroyed by a fire. This disaster has left the children without a safe place to sleep and has damaged essential facilities. We urgently need your help to rebuild and refurbish the orphanage.

What We Need:

Rebuilding Dormitories: Construct new dormitories to replace the ones lost in the fire.
New Essentials: Purchase new bunk beds, linen, clothing, and computers that were destroyed.
Facility Refurbishment: Repair and upgrade bathrooms, install insulation, and ensure access to clean filtered water.
Basic Amenities: Provide essential amenities to create a comfortable and safe living environment.
Our Mission: This is a chance to provide these children with a stable, safe home and a foundation for a brighter future. The children are fortunate to have access to schooling and English lessons, but a comfortable and secure residence is essential for their well-being and development.

How Your Donation Helps:

All funds raised will go directly to the cause via the Rotary trust account. Our volunteers, including an experienced builder, will oversee the rebuilding and refurbishing efforts. We will provide regular updates on the progress.
