100% sustainable textile : no plastics no chemicals no compromise
Short Summary
Our philosophy is based on the word ‘Djiva’ from the Sanskrit language, which means “someone who is born a second time”.
We make 100% sustainable T-shirts and Hoodies from banana tree fibre without using chemicals, plastics or no Viscose.
A conventional cotton T-shirt needs 2700 litres of water to make it, the synthetic fabric needs petrochemicals and plastics to make it AND the world produces 100 billion tons of agricultural residue per year that is often burnt or dumped.
As a solution to these problems, Green Whisper® has developed textiles made from agricultural residue using zero chemical and zero plastics AND gives a second life to the agricultural residues
The ultimate goal being to make this world a better place to live in.
- Our campaign: Raise 85000 Euro to accelerate growth and expand to new markets. We have successfully tested our textile in BtoB and now it’s time to bring Green Whisper® directly to customers/end users globally
- What you will help us achieve: We will increase sales and production, develop new products (undergarments and baby clothes), and continue R&D to convert other agro waste into textile
- Why you should help: Your support will directly fund increased sustainable and ethical textile manufacturing. Green Whisper® transforms banana tree trunk fiber into textiles without using any chemicals and the raw material doesn’t need CO2, water, and energy. Now is the time to bring this to global markets. You will get banana fibre T-shirts and Hoodies as perks.
- Who we are: We are Jayesh VIR and Anubhav MISHRA, the co-founders of Green Whisper®. Originally, engineers, we each received an MBA from HEC Paris in 2011 and co-founded Green Whisper® in 2018. We invented a process (patent pending) to convert banana tree fibre into textiles. Our processes and products have been featured in Fashion For Good Amsterdam, Future Fabrics Expo London and NYC, Première Vision Paris and NYC. Richemond Workshop, Kering Pitti S|Style, BFM Business France.
Green Whisper® is ready for the next step and we appreciate your support.
What We Need & What You Get
- How much funding we need and where it’s going : We need 85000 Euro funding. The funding will be used as follows: Manufacturing and shipping of perks; Business development; Marketing, social media; Working capital; New Product development (undergarments and babies clothes);
- Our unique reward : As a perk, we will provide T-shirts and/or Hoodies made from banana fibre fabric. This way you will use and test our innovative, sustainable and ethically made product and will contribute to our project that gives a second life to agricultural waste and makes the textile and fashion world pollution-free.
- Where the funds go if we don’t reach our entire goal : In case we don’t reach the entire goal, the funds will go for manufacturing and shipping perks to the contributors, Business development and R&D activities.
The Impact
Find below more explanations about our campaign and what difference your contribution will make:
-
We are solving two problems with one solution.
1) Agro waste burning problem. Most of the 1 billion tons of agro-waste produced every year is burnt or dumped. By giving a second life to the agro waste we avoid this burning, give a second source of revenue to farmers and create local employment.
2) All natural textile fibres require a lot of water, energy, CO2, land and synthetic fibres need plastics, harmful chemicals and petroleum for production. By using agro waste to make textiles, we get raw material with zero impact on the planet (no water, land, CO2 and energy needed) and without the use of any chemicals.
Fashion and other textile-related industries are some of the most polluting industries and are looking for an ecological and sustainable alternative. Our yarns and fabrics provide such an alternative and that too with enhanced properties. Our sustainable textile is made from banana stem fiber (agro waste) and solves both the above problems. The Banana tree gives fruit only once and after that, the tree is cut and stem thrown away. We make fiber from the tree trunk that we procure from the farmers and we convert this fiber into yarn and then weave the yarn to make textile. The process uses no chemicals.
LCA analysis says that our yarns and fabrics use 70% less Energy, 50% less CO2 and 60% less water compared to conventional cotton. This project is valuable to the contributors because they will get to test and wear clothing made from banana tree fibre and that too with zero chemicals and ethically made. It will allow them to be part of our sustainable journey whose aim is to reduce the negative impact of the textile and fashion world on the climate.
- Our successful track record with projects like this : Our products have been approved by big brands in the fashion and luxury world, in Europe and the USA. Our brand is a registered trademark, our technology is patent pending. We created this idea of using agro-waste to make textiles.

Risks & Challenges
We would like to be transparent about our campaign and our company. There may be challenges involved with the campaign. One of them is that we raise less than the target amount
- We have had similar hurdles in the past and we have gained experience in overcoming them. Our knowledge and experience in raising money from other sources (loans and govt aid), our business development and sales experience qualifies us to get revenues from non-conventional clients to reach our goal of raising money.
- Our plan in case we raise less than the target amount will be to use the raised money as leverage to raise an additional amount. In case we don’t succeed with alternate sources, we will use the raised amount to mainly concentrate on supplying the perks to contributors, Sales, Business Development and R&D.
