Raising development funds so we can make a film about Alzheimer’s and give back to the community.
INSPIRED BY TRUE EVENTS – Gilbert, 75, recently diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, is celebrating the launch of his wife Elise’s new book when he receives a phone call from his long-time friend and art collector, Eddie, about an old painting with deep emotional ties that has resurfaced. Stopped at a convenience store on his way to meet Eddie, Gilbert unexpectedly suffers from an extreme Alzheimer’s episode. Completely alone, a disoriented Gilbert, led by the fragments of his old memories, hopes to find his way back to his wife but instead finds himself at his childhood home. Meanwhile, a public search party is launched by his family who expects the worst, and a dark journey of three days and two nights begins when Gilbert’s recollections are his only hope in finding his way back to the present. Our team at Franky Films knew Gilbert and was involved in searching for him. We feel deeply connected to his family and all others suffering from Alzheimer’s.
We need funds for development. Unfortunately, We are unable to give out perks at this juncture, but if we raise our desired amount, we can. We are looking for $50,000 to pay our team for their hard work and dedication to the project and cause. Once we have that amount raised we will be able to produce the film and give back to the community. If we cannot reach our goal, we will donate the funds to Alzheimer’s research organizations.
Our company Franky Films has produced several feature films including Woodland Grey and Hall. We spend a lot of time developing the stories with our creative teams. Now our goal is to bring the story of Mr. Gravel to life and raise awareness for Alzheimer’s,
1 in 9 people over the age of 65 have Alzheimer’s. Just over 10% of the human population suffers from this disease. We want to raise awareness for the illness and how it affects not just those suffering from it, but also their loved ones. We also fully intend on donating money to our sponsors at the Alzheimer’s Society of Quebec and others to help them in their fight against the disease.
