The problem is often you are the most exposed to dirty air while you are on the move: commuting, travelling, at the office or socialising. Before there has not really been a good way to protect yourself. Now there is with 6G. We think this is a revolutionary new approach to clean air.

When we started designing 6G over a year ago, we had no idea we would be launching it amidst the worst air catastrophes in our generation. Over the last few months, we have had to do a lot of additional tests to make sure the 6G is 2020 proof.

Quiet 6200 rpm/min fan

We designed 6G to have 3 operating modes – turbo, medium and silent – to suit your busy life. Turbo Mode expels larger volume of clean air out and is perfect for when you are on the move or in a crowded environment whereas the Silent Mode is perfect in a more stationary situation where you need the air purifier to work in the background.

Turbo mode pushes as much as 2.8m/s of filtered clean air out through the adjustable outlet.

Adjustable neck strap

Every air purifier includes an adjustable neck strap for you to easily carry the device around your neck while using it or to attach it to your outfit. Our neck strap includes quick release clips for easy removal and safety breakaway clip.

Our Patented 6G Filter Technology

1. Pre-Filter guides the air for the HEPA filter below and protects it from direct exposure to large particles. 2. HEPA Filter (High efficiency particle filter) 3. Titanium Dioxide Coated membrane is the chemical element of the photo electrochemical oxidation or PECO. 4. Air Ionizer is charging air with negative ions and is the electro element of the photo electrochemical oxidation or PECO. 5. UV type-A LEDs radiate disinfecting UV light on the titanium dioxide-coated filter surface and hence is the photo element of the photo electrochemical oxidation or PECO. (NOTE! We don’t use UV-C type LEDs that can emit harmful Ozone into your breathing air) 6. Electric Fan has two fan speeds: Turbo & Quiet mode 7. Lithium Ion Battery: 1450mAh lithium ion battery 8. Clean Air Guide allows you to direct the air flow towards your face  

How does the particle filtration work?

1. H12 HEPA filter: HEPA filter is our first filtration step and already captures the majority of the airborne particles. 

2. Titanium Dioxide coating initiates a chemical reaction (with UV-light) which creates mini compounds called hydroxyl radicals. These mini compounds then react with bigger harmful chemicals/compounds and chop them down to harmless compounds.

3. Ionizer: Negative ionizer enhances the filtration efficiency of UV-light and TiO2 coating.

4. UV-A LEDs finalizes the chemical reaction (with TiO2 coating) which creates mini compounds called hydroxyl radicals. These mini compounds then react with bigger harmful chemicals/compounds and chop them down to harmless compounds.

Technical Specifications

Innovative Design

A lot of out-of-the-box thinking went into the 6GCool.

Compressing all the state-of-art technology into a size of a smartphone was a big challenge. Besides superior function, we wanted 6G to be ergonomic to use.  The predominant design feature is the eye-catching front grill that optimises the air suction to the underlying HEPA filter.

Keeping the product clean and easy to disinfect was also important. In the end we arrived to a minimalistic design.

Product Timeline

When we started designing 6G over a year ago, we had no idea we would be launching it amidst the worst air catastrophes in our generation. Over the last few months, we have had to do a lot of additional tests to make sure the 6G is 2020 proof. The design has now been completed, the product has gone through initial testing and we are now moving into production with our manufacturing partners. All the electronics have been sourced and we have a trusted manufacturing partner who can assemble the product. We do our own quality control and order fulfilment from our Hong Kong office. Currently, we are looking at December 2020 to start shipping the products to our first backers.

Meet The Founder

Janette Mäkipää, CTO of 6GCool

Growing up in Finland, Janette got used to two kinds of fresh air: the clean air out in the pristine Finnish wilderness and the clean air that the technologies her family business produced. After completing her Masters degree in Air Quality Control at the University of Stuttgart in 2018, Janette joined the family business. It didn´t take long for some fresh new ideas to take shape, leading eventually to the creation of the 6GCool, a consumer device encapsulating the most state-of-art technology to clean air.

6G Cool is a Lifa Air spin-off company. 

6G is a family company, founded by clean air experts, Vesa, Eppu and Janette Mäkipää, after discovering the growing demand for the right to healthy air in metropolitan cities around the world.

Year 2020 has been quite a year in the air purification industry! 

6G is using the next generation purification technology and is our first direct to consumer product. For these reasons and for the ambitious goal to revolutionize personal clean air, we have decided to go to market through crowdfunding with a spin-off company.
