Fund Alex Wisner’s comic book adaptation of the true story of General Wrangel

Story

Always with Honor: Issue 1

Passage Press is very proud to present Always with Honor: Issue 1 by Alex Wisner.

The memoir Always with Honor, published by Passage Press, recounts the incredible true story of General Pyotr Wrangel, the greatest hero of the Russian Civil War. Wrangel was a loyal military officer who saw his country taken over by the Bolsheviks in a bloody revolution, soon becoming one of the few men to stand against the terror. Wrangel’s unwavering courage in the face of evil has inspired readers for more than a century now.

Acclaimed artist Alex Wisner (@AlexWisnerArt) is in the process of adapting Always with Honor into a comic book. The first issue of this series has already been released digitally. Wisner’s art tells the story of General Wrangel with a vividness that only comics can capture. Passage Press and Wisner are partnering to produce this collectible physical edition of Always with Honor: Issue 1.

Profits from this limited run will be used to fund Alex’s work on future issues of the series.

Please contribute to help Alex complete his important project!

The Heroes

General Pyotr Wrangel

Baron Pyotr Nikolayevich Wrangel was born into one of the Russian Empire’s oldest and most prestigious noble families. Although Wrangel was kicked out of his elite military school as a young man, he volunteered for service in the Russo-Japanese War and was quickly decorated for brilliance in combat. In World War I, he was one of the earliest men to be awarded Russia’s highest medal for valor. After the Revolution, Wrangel led a small force in the anti-communist White Army. With this army Wrangel won brutal battles against overwhelming odds time and time again. The Bolsheviks began to call him the Black Baron.

Czar Nicholas II

Czar Nicholas Alexandrovich Romanov (Nicholas II) was Russia’s last emperor. Born into the royal family, power was thrust onto Czar Nicholas at a young age. He oversaw some of the most tumultuous and prosperous years in the Russian Empire’s history. Although Czar Nicholas tried to set himself apart as a reformer, violent revolutions sprung up from every corner of the empire. A kind man at heart, Czar Nicholas tried and failed to prevent the outbreak of World War I. The instability from this conflict threatened to see the end of his reign and his entire family.
