Cleenlight is the next evolution in lighting & cleaning for homes and businesses by using LED light technology to prevent mold, mildew, bacteria and viruses from growing on surfaces. 

Did you know that traditional cleaning methods are only 32% effective?  For example, to provide anti-microbial effectiveness, most surface cleaners need to be left on the surface for 20-30 minutes before wiping away!  And the next person that enters the room after you wipe down contaminates the surfaces again.

The secret is that lights provide continuous cleaning.  It’s a passive technology that requires no additional effort beyond turning the light switch on.  And unlike UV lights, Cleenlight operates in the visible light spectrum which means it is exempt from exposure limits to people, animals or plants.  It is a 24/7 solution!

The technology is already widely tested and proven in hospital settings and this campaign wants to bring the light to people’s homes to lend a helping hand. 

Our contract manufacturer requires a minimum run of 2,500 bulbs to begin production.  Therefore, we need to raise $50K to make the first production run possible.  Contributions of $25 will get 1 bulb, and we will take 10% off to $22.50 for purchase of 2 or more.  The cool violet glow of the lights will let people walking by your house know that it’s getting continually cleaned!

If we do not reach our funding goals, the money will be returned to contributors as our goal is to bring this product to market.

There are many benefits to this technology but two really stand out for home light bulbs.  First there is a real sustainability benefit:  Using light to clean instead of harsh chemicals reduces what we put in the water as well as reducing the use of water for cleaning.  Second is the reduction of microbial transfer in a space:  as more people work from home and as houses are built tighter and tighter, microbes are growing faster than ever.  In fact, the World Health Organization predicts that microbial deaths will pass cancer deaths by 2050!

Prototype bulbs have already been produced and there is extensive scientific literature behind the effects of germicidal visible light.  Our biggest challenge has been to maintain effectiveness as we shrunk the LED footprint to a size that can fit in a screw in bulb.  Now that we have solved that, we just need $50K to get the engine started.
