Who Are We?…

ReBirth Arts Collective is a performing-arts production company, and educational organization that produces and creates transformational theatrical experiences that magnify, educate, mobilize, entertain, and raise consciousness around current and historical social justice topics. As a cultural and educational organization we design and preserve a standard of BIPOC art that includes sharing authentic and multi-layered stories through theater, dance, music, and film. Since 2010, it has been our purpose to cultivate an ensemble of artists to create original works and provide programming to strengthen communities by delivering on the following:

• Providing a space for artists and aspiring artists to refine and develop literary skills.
• Producing theater & film that enhances cultural identity by telling narratives that promote and celebrate BIPOC experiences.
• Providing training, workshop, and educational opportunities in performance theater.
• Building culture in communities by providing training, development, and performance opportunities to multi-ethnic and under-served artists.

What is B-Port?…

The Series:

In the gritty metropolis of B-PORT, life is like a game of chess. The elites are the players. We are the pieces. Technology, capitalism and religion are the board. The prize, all of humanity. The rules, no holds barred. The objective, save your soul. B’PORT

The Pilot:

A modern day David & Goliath story. .

David & Shelly are in a fight for their lives against a group of wealthy elitist called the Green Light Society (G.L.S).  When the G.L.S select their home, The Charles G. housing complex, as their latest bio/chemical testing ground and fence them in, David and Shelly know they must get out of the projects and climb over the fence into the safe zone. But is the grass greener on the other side?

A sci-fi, psycho-thriller

The Cast:

We are proud to announce that 98% of this super talented cast is from the city of Bridgeport!

But Why?…

The world of B-Port was created as a space to highlight societal problems and present applicable solutions through metaphor. Art for us has always been a vessel for exploration and change. Sometimes people need an example of what change can actually look like. ‘

With B-Port we hope to not only set an example for our community in Bridgeport, CT but to also have the city involved every step of the way. From table reads to fundraising, to casting 20-40 residents as zombies and extra’s, we want the people engaged!

Not only do we want to create an award winning production but we want to leave a positive lasting impact on our beautiful city and cities across the globe.

It’s been a journey since beginning to write this series in 2015 and through our supporters and our interactions with them, B-Port has taken on it’s own language. The Risk?…

That’s expensive! Why fundraise on IndieGogo?

We are seeking funding for the Pilot episode of the series. So why are we here on Indiegogo and not debuting this on a more traditional network or outlet? 

The world of B-Port is unique and not easily understood from the outside. To tell this story right, you need to have first hand experience. Although, to tell this story for more than cable access production values you need a partner. In show business, a network/studio could add plenty to the business of B-Port, but at the expense of the show. Complications such as dictating what guests we may have, changing the tone of the show, going into production freezes, having a delayed release, or forcing the show to only be described by a tagline like “City of God meets World War Z” ­ though we will admit that is sort of an on the nose description.

The most important reason to use Indiegogo is that we have genuinely passionate, dedicated and powerful supporters. We’ve even seen some of our supporters get movies made. We realized pretty quickly we ought to cut out the middle management and just get you involved as soon as possible. We’ll have more fun having you on board this early in the process, and we know you’d love to see what we’re up to along the way.
