Banala® Sleep Dot™ features 10 sound levels. For effective use, simply set the sound to the lowest level that you can comfortably hear. These subtle sound waves will blend with ambient noise, enhancing your sleep experience.

The human sleep cycle alternates between deep (slow-wave) sleep and REM (rapid eye movement, also known as paradoxical) sleep, typically cycling through these phases every one to two hours. For a truly restful night, you ideally go through five to six of these complete cycles.

Typically, a normal sleep cycle is composed of five distinct stages. The first and second stages involve light sleep, where you’re just beginning to drift off. The third and fourth stages are when you enter deep sleep, a phase crucial for physical restoration. The final, fifth stage, is known as REM sleep, characterized by rapid eye movements and vivid dreaming.

  • Light Sleep: The night begins in light sleep, where you hover at the edge of consciousness. In this initial stage, your eyes move gently, muscle activity diminishes, and waking up is not as easy as you might think. It’s a gentle introduction to the sleep cycle.
  • Preparing for Deep Sleep: As you transition to the second stage, your body gears up for deeper rest. Eye movements and brain activity decelerate, signaling your body to cool down and your heart to ease its pace, setting the scene for the deep sleep to come.
  • Deep Sleep Begins: The third stage marks the entry into deep sleep, where your brain waves slow to a crawl, producing the deep, restorative delta waves interspersed with brief moments of smaller, quicker waves. It’s during this stage that your body does most of its healing and regeneration.
  • Deeper Sleep: In the fourth stage, deep sleep deepens further. Your brain nearly exclusively generates delta waves, pulling you further into rest and recovery, and setting the stage for the final phase of the sleep cycle.
  • REM Sleep: The final stage, known as REM sleep, is where dreams are most vivid. Even though your eyes are shut, they dart back and forth rapidly, a testament to the intense dream activity occurring in your brain. Despite the flurry of eye movement, brain activity slows, concluding the cycle before it starts anew.

Isochronic Tones

Isochronic Tones are known worldwide for their sleep improvement and power napping benefits. But, if you’re struggling to get to sleep, your brain is likely producing too much beta activity. Banala with Isochronic Tone technology helps to reduce beta activity and increase delta and theta frequency range. Thus, ensuring you experience a better, faster, and deeper sleep.

Brainwave Frequencies for Better Sleep

Brainwave speed is measured in Hertz (Hz) and relates to the cycling movement per second. So a 5Hz brainwave simply means that it’s cycling at a five times per second rate.

Our brainwave activity reflects our mood. For example, if slower brainwaves are dominant, we feel sleepy, relaxed, or dreamy.

Brainwave entrainment methods, like isochronic tones, stimulate and produce more brain activity of a specific frequency or range, making that more dominant.
