Our Story

Boss Dog Games is a company that our family started during the pandemic.

A funny joke quickly became our very first game, and with that, started a mission to make people laugh.

Our mission is to create a gaming company that isn’t all about profits- its about making people smile. Our second game, Beware of Bears is continuing that mission. Since our company was created during the pandemic by a family of five, we realize sometimes all a family needs is a good laugh. That’s why we’re donating x1 game for every x1 sold after our campaign to kids in hospitals across the country. Every new game we create allows us to spread more joy and laughs! 

Our first game, Farting Frenchies has continued to be a great success and since launching the initiative June, we’ve donated 1,600 games to kids in hospitals across the country!

Our second game, Beware of Bears is continuing our mission to make people laugh!

Beware of Bears is an exciting fast-paced card game where players fight to sabotage and eliminate each other while watching out for… bears! Defeat your friends and make your path to victory before you end up in a bear’s stomach! ??

The more you progress through the game, the crazier it gets with lava, evil squirrels, yummy donuts, and best of all, scary bears! Beware of Bears is a super strategic, family friendly, fast paced, 20-30 minute game that will keep you laughing… and running for your life!

Beware of Bears Origin Story

It all came from a trip… to the woods. We live in CT, pretty far from bear country, so when we went for a hike one day and came upon a “Beware of Bears” sign we were surprised…aaaand had a good laugh…See, one member of the family, who shall remain nameless, (pssst rhymes with icky) has a habit of falling into haaaaiiiry situations while on trips. We all laughed that chances are he’d be the one to get caught by a bear. 

The backstory: rewind to 2017 when we went on a trip to L.A. to film for Shark Tank. The day before we went on set, Mickey took a tumble off an electric scooter, got four stitches and two fractured wrists! After insisting he was fiiiiine, (Brave kid!) the very next day Mickey went head-to-head with nature again- a SHARK named Mr. Wonderful! 

Fast forward to 2019; we’re on a trip, yet again, and Mickey gets stung by the third most dangerous jellyfish in the world– a Portugese Man O War, aaaand, thank goodness, lives to tell the tale. See, nature and trips do not end well for Mickey!

So that’s why we had a good laugh…aaanand spent the rest of the hike talking about how it would make a hilarious game! We went home and immediately created the game. That game is 98% the exact same game to this day.

That infamous day:

Hi! We’re the Naqvi’s.  We’re passionate about family, pets, the great outdoors…and games! Like many business owners, our small business took a back seat during quarantine, so we filled our days creating and playing games. We wanted to bring that same joy to others so we decided to give it a go and create the gaming company you see today! Our first game, Farting Frenchies was a huge success so we pivoted and created a gaming company that the whole family has a hand in! We’ve had so much fun ever since!

Being a family of entrepreneurs, designers & artists really helps! Family walks around the neighborhood are now brainstorming sessions and time after dinner is spent drawing and revising our games. It’s been a blast! Please help us create this game and back our project!

This game has been play-tested like crazy by some of the best in the biz and families alike, and we’re so excited that it’s gotten such amazing reviews. Gamers love the dual action gameplay and how players have to keep an eye on their opponent at all times. Gamers who play long games and short ones alike loved the feel and the flow of the game!

Risks & Challenges

The toughest thing with a new product is working out all the details, but we’re lucky enough that we’ve done this before! Also, our other gig is in product development and graphic design- so we have all the tools we need to deliver the game- and do it fast! Our factory is ready and we already have the base game artwork finalized and ready to print! As soon as the campaign is complete we’ll be placing the order and getting it into production
