The Blazon Ember Hybrid is designed to be a patio heater that is portable and compact to meet the mobile lifestyle! We often find ourselves at the beach, glamping, or taking road trips in our camper van. It’s not easy to find a heater that solves all of our needs which is why we created the Blazon Ember Hybrid!
Heat rises so quickly that 50% of the heat produced by infrared heaters goes straight up into the atmosphere and never felt by anyone. Mushroom style patio units overheat your head but leave the rest of your body cold. Portable propane heaters create a substantial fire and burn risk yet you have to be very close to them in order to stay warm.
We overcome this challenge by making a heater you can safely place on the floor and by integrating a powerful fan with a 6 foot range that heats you and your guests from the feet upward. This allows you to run the Blazon Ember Hybrid at a lower heat setting and feel the same amount of heat as traditional heaters at higher heat settings.
The Blazon Ember Hybrid is indoor safe and has a powerful whisper quiet fan that you can point to where you are sitting or sleeping. The fan also creates indoor circulation that draws hot air down from the ceiling and creates a more evenly heated living space with less fuel.

The Blazon Ember Hybrid has all the safety features you’ve come to expect from portable propane heaters like low oxygen, tip over and flame out cut-off devices. It’s the unique safety features not found in infrared heaters that make the Blazon Ember Hybrid the safest portable propane heater in the industry.
We believe that to be truly indoor safe a heater must not pose a substantial fire or burn risk. That’s why we encased our propane heating element in an insulated chamber and no not expose and open flame to our customers.
Unlike infrared heaters, blue flame heaters don’t heat objects around them they heat the air. You can place the Blazon Ember Hybrid in tight spaces and not have the same burn or fire risk to surrounding objects or the ground that you have with infrared heaters.
The fan in the Blazon Ember Hybrid helps cool exterior surfaces by circulating cool air through gaps in the frame. The front picture frame is also double paned glass with a gap for air to pass. The fan also stays on for 1 minute after the heater is turned off to cool the heater quickly.
The Blazon Ember Hybrid has a powerful quiet fan that baths you with warm air up to 6 feet away. The fan is powered by the integrated Blazon Hybrid System (BHS) and there are no cords to plug in, batteries to replace and you never have to recharge it. The BHS system leverages a natural phenomenon called the Seebeck Effect to convert excess heat into electricity so no additional fuel is needed to generate electricity. The fan begins to spin automatically after the burner is lit. (See “How to Operate” in the “Getting to Know The Blazon Ember Hybrid” section below.)

We received our first utility patent for the Blazon Hybrid System in August of 2021 followed by two design patents for the Blazon Hybrids heaters in December 2022 and May 2023.
There is space for two 1lb propane tanks in the insulated back compartment. The Ember can run off of just one tank but connecting a second tank extends the run time to 10 hours on low.
You can also be connected to larger external tanks with an available adaptor which is threaded throught the bottom of the Ember. Connected to 20lb propane tank will run the Ember for 100 hours on low. See Tech Specs for more runtimes.
There is only one knob on the Blazon Ember Hybrid so operating the heater is simple.
Light the Pilot: Turn the knob forward a quarter turn and press in to engage the pulse ignitor. You’ll hear a series of clicking sounds then the pilot light will light.
Light the Burner: Turn the knob forward another quarter turn and the main burner will light in the low setting. Continue to turn the knob forward to the medium and high settings.
Automatic Fan: The fan will automatically begin to spin after the main burner is lite to any of the heat settings. The fan speed will automatically adjust up or down in sync with the heat setting. For example, if the heater is on low the fan speed will also be low. When the heat setting is on hight the fan will automatically begin to spin faster.
Cool Down Period: The fan will continue to spin for up to 2 minutes after the gas is turned off to quickly cool the heater.
Blazon Heaters was started in Seattle in February, 2021 after 4 years of research and development into the Blazon Hybrid System; a system that converts heat into electricity. As a 10 year tech executive with experience working at Amazon, I saw a massive opportunity to drive higher levels of fuel efficiency into the outdoor heating industry with innovative disruptive technology. We received our first utility patent in August of 2021 followed up with two design patents in December 2022 and May 2023.
I partner with my brother Michael from Sweden to align with his passion for the environment and his 30 years for design and engineering experience. We also partner with the Product Creation Studio in Seattle to leverage their 20 years of experience designing and producing high end, quality products for industry.
