This is the story of how the world is a better place one BRAT at a time.
As a military dependent or BRAT, this story has been in my heart for 15 years, and now, it’s time to tell it. My name is Kimberly, and this is BRAT Ambition: The Success of our Nation’s Military Dependents
What it is:
Bratlife is often misconstrued and misunderstood except for those on the inside looking out. As adults, Brats check their ID at age 23 and live out some pretty fantastic adventures, inspiring others along the way.
While most of America appreciates the services the military provides, they have no concept of the dramatic impact it makes other than on the battlefield. In a world in which we’re more divided than ever comes a refreshing take on how BRATS or military dependents create unknown ripples in community, cultures, and hearts by inspiring others.
Many movers and shakers in our world are military BRATS who have taken what they learned and used it to catapult them into success. From big names to unknowns, our culture is shaped by those who have served in their own right.
We want to bring awareness to these unsung heroes who make the world a better place right under our noses. This is what has inspired ‘Brat Ambition.’
We’ve put together a team of BRATS who are also in the film industry with Actor and Executive Producer John Schwab (most recent work: Actor in The Queen’s Gambit), Producer Brad Heath (most recent work: The Kiamichi Project), Director Kimberly McKay (published author, screenwriter), Advisor and Retired U.S. Army Lieutenant General, Micheal A. Bills, and Professional Videographers Matt Bills and Robert Trawick.
American Idol Runner-up (and BRAT) Bo Bice has also agreed to be a part of the documentary.
Bo was on season four and came in second to Carrie Underwood. Since then, he’s released multiple hits and has been touring. He’s excited about this project as are many of the others we’ve invited to be a part of this project. There are other exciting names we can’t release yet, but more is to come.
We’re most excited about sharing this amazing project with the world, but we can’t do it without YOU! Your support means shining a light on an uplifting story about how America is shaped by these individuals, even if most Americans are unaware of their contributions.

The Impact
“BRAT Ambition” is a love story like none other, demonstrating our brat mentality – our inclusivity for all races, religions, walks of life, and cultures. It will highlight what we all should strive for – to be more unified, not take no for an answer when it comes to our dreams, and to walk boldly through life.

There have been many films and documentaries about the military, but nothing that covers this angle. We want to inspire current and former brats to remember what they’re a part of while educating the civilian world about what we’ve truly faced and overcome.
Risks & Challenges
This is a global project therefore a truly ambitious one that will take a lot of travel which means if we don’t have the funding we’ll have to come up with an alternate plan. While we have a plan B in mind, we want to give this project every chance to thrive and succeed in a way that will give it the best platform.
Other Ways You Can Help
If you’re unable to donate, we still could use your help by sharing this campaign on a regular basis.
**Once a week or every other week will keep it top of mind with your social media circles and friends & family.
Here’s a key element when sharing… add your own words and post why it’s important. Your network cares what YOU think and most algorithms push posts with personal messages rather than ‘just’ a link.
Also – use the hashtag #bratambition so we can track how far the word is spreading!
