How it works

Designed to work seamlessly with the included Boogie Board Blackboard paperless writing tablet so everything is instantly saved to the smart pen and streamed via Bluetooth to your smartphone and our handy Blackboard app. Organize your strokes of genius into folders, highlight important parts, edit unimportant ones and share them with anyone or any other app with ease. 

4 simple steps

Write: The Carbon Copy Pen is exceptionally smart and is always saving what you write, storing it in the pen. Simply start to write and you’re good to go… 

Save: Ready to “Turn the Page?” – Tap the Carbon Copy Icon near the bottom right hand corner to let the pen know you are done with that page of notes and that you are ready to start a new page. If connected to the app, tapping the icon will also instantly stream the page of notes from your pen to the app.

Erase: Like all Boogie Board products, simply click the button to “erase” the screen and start another page. 

Organize: Keep organized with the many save, edit and share features included in the app.

Here at Boogie Board we make a variety of paperless writing tablets. But the one that works with the Carbon Copy Pen is called Blackboard. The tablet is “always ON”. There is nothing to plug-in or charge. Our Blackboard tablets come in 2 sizes, the Blackboard Letter (8.5″ X 11″), and the Blackboard Note (5.5″ X 7.25″). 

We’ve created a smart, Carbon Copy template which allows the Carbon Copy Pen to save what you write. The template is simply tucked behind the semi-transparent Blackboard screen. As you write, you see your writing and the Pen saves every stroke discretely in the pen.

The Pen is lightweight, easy to use and consumes very little power. Charges last for weeks before needing a recharge (via the included micro USB cable). 

We’ve created a simple and intuitive app that works with both Apple® and Android® smartphones. When you write on your Blackboard using the Carbon Copy Pen, everything you write is instantly saved to your pen. When your pen is near your phone, you simply sync it with the App to transfer your notes via Bluetooth. You can re-organize them into other folders, highlight them, mark them up, or erase unwanted bits digitally via the app. And, best of all, you can share them as an image or PDF file with other apps or anyone you like.
