No project is entirely risk-free, particularly during a global pandemic. Like many other projects our biggest risk is shifting timelines. We can’t change what’s going on in the world right now but the good news is that our prototypes are ready for production, we just need your support to kick things off. We’ve been working with the same manufacturing partners since 2008, and our designs are tried, tested and true. The products in this Kickstarter project use the same fundamental design principles as our existing Milo Dutch oven and skillet. These best-sellers are firm fan-favorites and we’re excited to unveil this new range of colors you won’t find anywhere else.

Sustainability Initiatives

1% for the Planet

Through our commitment to 1% for the Planet, Kana has chosen to partner with One Tree Planted, a non-profit organization that focuses on global reforestation. As an environmental charity, they’re dedicated to making it easier for individuals and businesses to give back to the environment, create a healthier climate, protect biodiversity and help reforestation efforts around the world. As an ode to our range of cast-iron cookware that has been thoughtfully designed in California, we’ve decided to focus our reforestation efforts in the Golden State. When you purchase a Milo product from Kana, we will donate a portion of our profits to planting trees in the same place where Milo was designed and imagined.

We’re committed to working with sustainable and recycled materials that don’t compromise on quality.

Recycled Cast Iron: Incorporating 40% reclaimed cast iron reduces our environmental impact and prevents waste from discarded recyclable materials.

Non-Toxic: We use non-toxic materials and we are proud that our cookware is compliant with Proposition 65.

We settle for nothing but the highest standards of integrity and quality. Our manufacturing partners are BSCI and ISO certified and have been hand selected based on their commitment to upholding Kana’s core values.

BSCI Certified: After two years of research, we carefully selected our BSCI compliant manufacturing partners for their high quality of workmanship and safe working conditions. This ensures that our products are made by employees who are guaranteed fair pay in a safe environment.

ISO Certified: Our manufacturing team is committed to continually improve product quality, the health and safety of employees, and our environmental impact in line with international certifications ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
