Story

Greetings Comic Book Fans!

Wet Paint Pictures is excited to welcome you to — Days of Sodom crowdfunding campaign!

Days of Sodom, is a feature length film that serves as a supernatural, detective Noir film.

He doesn’t know why he was chosen. He only knows that somehow, he has returned from the dead with a mission. Guided by a mysterious Crow, a police detective (THORN GRAY) returns from the grave to seek vengeance on the officers who murdered his wife. But the murderers may be more than he bargained for as he finds that he’s fighting for much more than revenge in this explosive hell ride through love, grief, depravity and a city in collapse.

Days of Sodom will be a feature-length Noir-horror film produced by Wet Paint Pictures. It is massive in scale, and wildly ambitious for a fan film. We began writing this script back in January 2021 and it took us more than two years to complete. It took so long because we wanted a great story with intrigue, emotional depth, violence, despair and reflection. We wanted a tortured hero with a tragic and complex backstory. We wanted him to be real, vulnerable and believable. And we wanted truly horrifying villains, not just the usual thugs, gangsters or mobsters that usually populate action movies As horror fans, we also wanted to push the limits of film the way great horror movies do, but maintain a real emotional core and character depth that horror often lacks. We’re proud to say the few who have read the Days of Sodom script, including a veteran Hollywood actor who has worked with legends from Paul Newman to Carol Burnett, have given us overwhelmingly positive feedback.

Maven Huffman – began his professional wrestling career in 2001 upon being selected to participate in the inaugural season of Tough Enough, a reality television show used by the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) to find new WWF stars. Ultimately, Maven would become the co-winner of the competition alongside Nidia Guenard, and he was sent to the Heartland Wrestling Association (HWA) to receive further training.

Maven will be portraying one of the main core villains named “DANTE”

We’re excited to bring Robert “Bonecrusher” Mukes to the cast! The 6′ 10″ actor is best known for his role as Rufus “R.J.” Firefly, Jr. in House of 1000 Corpses. Robert is also known for his role as eskimo bounty hunter Abumchuck in the TV series Weeds and his work on HBO’s TV series, Westworld.

Robert will be portraying one of the main core villains named “VIRGIL”

John Philbin – was born in California, USA. He is an actor and producer, known for Point Break (1991), The Return of the Living Dead (1985) and Children of the Corn (1984).

We’re excited to have John portraying Private Investigator “Arthur Webb”

Mickie James – made her World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) main roster debut in 2005 and was placed in a storyline with Trish Stratus, in which James’ gimmick was that of Stratus’ biggest fan turned obsessed stalker, an angle which ran over eight months. She received a push and she won her first WWE Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 22, a title she has held a total of five times. James also won her first Divas Championship defeating Maryse Ouellet at Night of Champions in 2009, to become the second of five Divas to hold both the Women’s and Divas titles. She was released from the company in April 2010, after which she returned to TNA, where she became a three-time TNA Knockouts Champion. James returned to WWE in 2013 as a guest trainer, then officially returned in 2016 before she was once again released in 2021. James would then make occasional appearances and would ultimately return to Impact Wrestling in 2021, winning her fourth and fifth Knockouts Championship, making James a total 11-time women’s world champion between WWE and Impact.

BUDGET BREAKDOWN

Our goal over the next month is to raise $50,000.

Reaching this goal will give our team the necessary backing to resume filming this summer of  2024.

65% of the campaign’s funding will be invested in the production of the actual film. This includes everything from pre-production builds to on-set production costs. Catering, flying in talent, costumes, gear rentals, and locations.

15% of funds will be held for the production of physical perks for the backers of this campaign. We have years of experience working with various vendors and expect swift deliveries once our orders are placed.

10% of funds will be held for shipping and handling costs for both domestic and international packaging.

10% of our funds will go toward our Indiegogo hosting, processing fees, and taxes.

All funds delivered to Wet Paint Pictures by Indiegogo are designated for the production costs mentioned above. No monetary gain would be made from its source.

The Crow, as a concept, represents the emotions of the lost and downtrodden in a society that so often abuses us at our lowest point. We feel that Days Of Sodom hits on many key points. Emotional turmoil, love, loss, and grief. Of course we’ll have… action. Lots, and lots of ACTION!

This film is simply a passion project to the core. Made by the fans, for the fans. We hope to bring something new to a franchise, and character, that means so much to so many people.

Our ambition is that this film can continue in that vein. That this can both entertain, but also help heal people.

We thank  you for taking the time to look over our campaign and know that we are greatly appreciative for any support you can give. After making your contribution, we simply ask that you please share this campaign with friends or family you believe will enjoy this film.

Thank you again for your continued support of independent films!

As outlined in Indiegogo’s policy, Campaign Backers contribute to campaign owners, not to Indiegogo.  However, Indiegogo is able to refund your contribution before any of the following occur:

1, The contribution funds were disbursed to the campaign owner;

2. The campaign ends; or

3. The perk(s) is “Locked”, which means the campaign owner has indicated the perk(s) is ready for shipment, or “Shipped” by the campaign owner.

Once the Indiegogo campaigns ends, all contributions are final. Backers recognize and understand that WET PAINT PICTURES reserve the right to a NO REFUND POLICY.  PLEASE be sure you are ALL-IN prior to making a donation as every bit will be allotted to the above-mentioned Post-Production and Festival fees! We know there are infinite other projects you could support or life necessities to spend your hard-earned money on, but our team is deeply grateful for your belief in us! Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts. We cannot wait for you to see what you helped make possible.
