Epic battle between Hexgyas the gigantic robot and the Grandragon!
An unique miniature game by Susumu Kawasaki for 1-4 players.

Story

Dragon Gyas is a long-awaited board game with miniatures brought to life by Max Factory and Arclight together with some of Japan’s top creators! This Kickstarter together with the Makuake project mentioned above are the only options to be one of the first to get your hands on the game!

We are offering two different pledge levels – one is the standard edition which includes all the miniatures as plastic model kits that require assembly, the other features the miniatures all put together from the start.

Various stretch goals are also ready to be unlocked as we reach new goals to make Dragon Gyas even better!

This project is already supported the Japanese Version at Makuake (Japanese crowdfunding system).

The stretch goal of this project was also run at the Japanese crowdfunding web-site Makuake where fans helped us raise over $140000! This amount has been pooled already unlocked a selection of stretch goals you can read about below. Once this project has succeeded the pooled amount would boost unlocking stretch goals.

Dragon Gyas features well-known creators and developers on all sides of the spectrum – a top quality miniature production team, experienced scenario and setting writers and well-known illustrators all coming together to create a board game we are proud to present to the world!

Giant robots, witches, knights, and dragons imagined by Jiro Ishii have been captured by leading illustrators including Kinu Nishimura. These illustrations have then been transformed into beautiful miniatures sculpted by Max Factory, one of Japan’s leading figurine and plastic model developers. All aspects of the game have been made with passion and care to ensure an amazing experience.

Dragon Gyas, produced by world-renowned game designer Susumu Kawasaki, is a unique board game in which players control one of two sides: the Hexgyas and the Royal Order ready to defend humankind or the Grandragon and dragonewts bent on extinction of human race.

The game features a one-of-a-kind system with pieces following two rulesets on a single board:

· Hexgyas/Grandragon: These powerful units must be strategically sequenced based on your opponent’s moves.
· Knights/Dragonewts: These units are moved based on the current situation, similar to chess.

These rules capture the setting of combat: the Hexgyas is a powerful giant robot that is difficult to operate quickly, while the knights can move around freely but are weaker and take on more of a support role to the powerful robot. Similarly the Grandragon is all-powerful but cannot move around with as much ease as the smaller Dragonnewts.

The game rules, scenarios, and illustrations have all been created with the help of top names in Japan. These components add to the fun of the game and immerse you in the Dragon Gyas universe.

For 1-4 players / Playing time 60 Min / Box size: W460 D320 H160, Approx 5kg

A distant world, far from our own.

A place known to its residents as Njargrængardr.

Once every 100 years or so, history repeats itself as battles rage with the dragons that appear all too suddenly. The dragons always emerge in chaos, and they always destroy in chaos. To break this cycle, the people built a fortified city surrounded by towering walls, and on the whole, live within them. The only thing they have that can stand against these dragons is a titan mech under the control of a witch.

Powered by magic, this titan—the Hexgyas—was created long ago; the relic of a forgotten century. The knowledge of how to create new titans was never passed down, but the people have somehow kept this titan in good repair, generation after generation. Now, you are either on the side of the Royal Order —duty bound to slay the dragons that have once again appeared in Njargrængardr, or on the side of the Dragon—on a rampage to utterly destroy the fortified city.

Battling against each other for victory, the the Royal Order takes control of the Hexgyas and 7 Knights, while the Draconic side commands the Grandragon and 7 Dragonewts.

Will you carve out a new chapter in the well recounted dragon-slaying chronicle of Njargrængardr? Or will this story become just another rumor fragment among many of the cities that have fallen to the dragons?

The outcome is entirely in your hands…
