Introduction

In the interest of preserving the health and life of Ukrainian children, and in the face of the ongoing warfare, the Happy Kids NGO, in cooperation with the City of Łódź, Poland, undertook an action to save the most vulnerable lives – children from foster care.

The evacuation of orphans from public orphanages, foster families and other forms of foster care from Ukraine to Poland is coordinated by Aleksander Kartasiński, President of the Happy Kids Foundation, Plenipotary of the Mayor of the City of Łódź Hanna Zdanowska for Aid to Ukrainian Children. To this day, the need for evacuation and safe admission of the children has been declared by the caregivers of 500 Ukrainian orphans. The numbers keep increasing. The first 35 children and their guardians have already managed to safely reach Poland.

The donations will be allocated for immediate needs – transportation, food, hygiene products, clothes – as well as for medical treatment, psychological therapy and legal care.

About us

The Happy Kids NGO runs 17 Family-type Children Homes in Poland, currently providing care to 140 children. We have been working for children since 2001. Our mission is to provide equal opportunities for every child to achieve their life goals, now and in the future. The children from the evacuation, together with their caregivers, will receive safety and care in Family-type Children’s Homes of the Happy Kids NGO, foster families, and public institutions in Łódź, Wieruszów, Gdynia and other Polish cities.
