No job, no money = no food, no medicine. Many Nepalis still suffering from the effects of Covid 19.
Family & Friends Project is a registered NPO and has been working in Nepal for over 10 years in the area of education, providing educational sponsorships for poor/disadvantaged children and support for teacher training and educational materials. At the same time, we have provided support to our partners during times of disaster, such as the 2015 earthquake and occasional floods where we have helped both schools and communities rebuild. In more than a year, Nepal has suffered not one, but two very severe lockdowns due to the Covid 19 pandemic. While this has been difficult for everyone, it has been particularly devastating for low income families who were already struggling to survive, as they lost their only means of income and have little other support.
As you can imagine, this is a huge problem, affecting tens of thousands of people in both urban and rural areas all across Nepal. It is obviously an immensely larger problem than any single, or group of organizations can solve, but by working with our trusted partners in Nepal, we believe we can target specific communities and provide food relief and basic medicine in the most effective way to the families in those communities, but we do need your help. We have already provided close to ¥1,000,000 (nearly $9,000) in relief support and would like to get half of that again, i.e. ¥500,000 (~$4,500) if not more, as the situation in Nepal is likely to continue for some time.
Please have a look at the Family & Friends Project Facebook page for examples of people we work with and what we have done to date. <https://www.facebook.com/FamilyFriendsProject>
Any amount of donation would be greatly appreciated and apart from CrowdFunding fees, 100% of your donation with go directly to the program and not to other administrative costs or overhead. We will of course, acknowledge your contributions and provide periodic updates. You will also be able to connect with like-minded people and have the satisfaction of helping to make the world a better place, particularly in these very difficult times.
Lastly, please feel free to spread the word on social media, or any other means, and help us achieve our goal. Have a look at the Indiegogo “share tools”, for ideas, as well. Thank you.
Take care and stay safe.
