An inspiration for this application was our own experience. As we traveled a lot from one place to another and occurred high fuel expenses, we thought about the way to reduced this cost. 

In the meantime, our friends who set up an online shop, shared their struggles about delivering the products to their clients on time. The biggest challenge for our friends as well as all the people using Courier Services is that the packages are not sent directly from the Sender to Receiver but are going through many logistic centers. That was our moment! 

GO Pigeon is a mobile application that will connect drivers with people who need to post the package. Through the application, the sender can find a driver who is planning a trip to the same place to which the package is to be delivered.

We already came up with the logo for our application.

How does it work:

1. Through the application the sender creates the new booking order.

2. The sender provides basic information about the parcel, such as: size, weight, type of goods.

3. Information about the package is sent to the database.

4. Drivers can see the zip/post code and street. They can’t see the exact collection and delivery address.

5. Drivers can start sending their offer providing the estimated time of parcel collection and time of delivery, as well as the price for the service. The sender can choose the most suitable offer.

6. The sender of the parcel accepts only one driver to carry out the delivery service. The payment form is then confirmed.

7. The sender will be able to track the parcel location using GO Pigeon application until the package is being delivered.

8. Every driver will have to provide a full name, ID number, his vehicle make, model and the registration number. This will ensure the sender that driver’s identity is verified in the database.

9. When handing over the package, the sender checks driver’s car registration document and his ID card.

10. The payment for the transport is made by the sender or the addressee of the package in cash or using an instant money transfer to the driver’s account in GO Pigeon application.

11. The notification confirming a delivery of the package will be sent through GO Pigeon application.

12. After delivery of the package, the application will ask the sender to rate the driver and vice-versa.

The intention of the application is for the driver to share the costs of his journey with the sender of the package. The driver’s initial purpose is to rich his planned destination related to his private or professional life. Therefore, delivering the package is the secondary activity that happens along the way. The application will only be allowed for non-commercial purposes. It is forbidden to offer a service for a profit, including earning income from travel. The sum of money the driver receives for transporting and delivering packages cannot exceed his travel expenses, i.e. the cost of fuel and road tolls. In this case, no profit is generated. This is a legal regulation in most countries.

We will eliminate the cases of people who through the application conduct a paid activity.

Senders have an obligation to report drivers suspected of carrying out commercial activity or/and trying to sell their services through GO Pigeon application.
