A game-changing, fully customizable plier-based modular multi-tool with interchangeable components.
With over 25+ years of avid multitool use, we noticed some recurring issues that have been prevalent over the last two decades:
Limited function. Big multitool brands address functionality by releasing multiple models/lines with different fixed attachments. Some attachments you might use every day and others you might use, well, never.
Although big brands have offered exceptional quality over the years, they have not offered much in terms of customization. So, what you see is what you get.
Often with lifetime warranties, which are great, you are usually required to send in your multi-tool to get repaired if it breaks. This repair can take up 3 or 4 weeks, leaving you without your multi-tool unless you have more than one.
Standing in your local or favorite outdoor store, you are looking at a display case with many good-looking multi-tool brands to choose from. Each multi-tool has different looks or purposes.
After checking out a couple of them, you think to yourself: “This one looks great! But there are only 5 functions I want to use out of the 12…” So you put it back and pick up the next one, the same thing.
Annoying right? What ends up happening? You take the one that looks good and offers the most benefits for you, which makes perfect sense.
Here is our solution to the issues and scenario mentioned earlier.
A fully customizable multi-tool base which is essentially a blank canvas for you to paint your desires and requirements on.
With our tool, you no longer need to carry a multi-tool that has limited function.
Let’s start from the top.
And yes, GOAT plier handles are designed with a gap to prevent the dreaded “plier pinch” when they are gripped tight.
Like most multi-tools on the market, we wanted to include a section on our pliers that can be used for cutting. The solution we opted for, however, is not close to any other brands.
These handles are strong and impact resistant. Designed to fold into a comfortable carry/storage position, once closed, our multi-tool boasts the biggest pommel on the market.
Likened to a mini hammer, GOAT Tool has made the pommel durable enough to withstand multiple tough impacts without any of the screws or attachments rattling loose.
On the side, we have put a deep pocket carry clip.
The clip can also be attached in 4 different places for customers’ preference.
And now we move on to what makes GOAT Tools a truly different type of multi-tool.
When purchasing our multitool you can give it your very own personal styling and decide which functionality you want to add to it.
Here’s how:
Several scale options will be available, the real beauty is that by utilizing the provided templates of your multitools’ sides you can make your side scales out of your preferred material.
We went for this design because if you are an avid creator or you are good with tools you can put your personal touches onto your multi-tool.
Future selection of side scales includes: Micarta, carbon fiber, brass, or powder finishes, the possibilities are endless.
Our proprietary pivot and locking system means you can add or remove attachments without needing to disassemble your whole multi-tool.
Using this method, you are now able to choose which functions you want your multi-tool to perform. We will offer a wide range of selectable attachments for you, such as smooth or serrated blade options, scissors, tweezers, a hex attachment which you can use for different screwdriver bits, and so much more. The first step is us a Gear Community launching this modular platform!
The attachment design is so simple that you can even make your tool attachments if you want to.
We are calling this our “Launch Configuration”, it has a good starting point of commonly used tools. The more we raise the more tooling we can afford and add more options to be used with the multi-tool!
Every multi-tool now includes a nylon MOLLE sheath, for FREE! Just another way we would like to say “Thank You!” for supporting this new multi-tool platform!
Optional Add-on Components!
Safety Cutter / Gut Hook
Many of you will be very glad to know that a 440c Safety Cutter is now available as an add-on. A razor-sharp edge tucked inside of a curved hook perfect for cutting rope, straps, or clothing in an emergency situation. This module can be placed into any of the 4 Long Slots (knife, scissors, saw, and hobby blade holder come pre-installed in these slots).
Brass Scales!
The first of many material choices to customize your GOAT Modular Multi-tool! The brass scales are an alloy of copper and zinc that naturally patinas and will provide every tool with its own unique look with normal use. Each set includes 4 scales (2 per handle), 8 new screws, a spare 2mm allen wrench/hex key, and thread lock.

S30V Blade!
Although our standard blades’ 440C is no slouch of a steel, S30V is a premium steel preferred by many knife enthusiasts. It is slightly harder to sharpen than 440C, but it will hold that razor edge even longer, allowing you to get more done before it needs a visit from your sharpener! All the while still retaining a nice balance of corrosion resistance and strength. You will still receive the 440C blade with your pledge and an ADDITIONAL S30V blade! All of our add-ons are extra items, none of them will supplement an item you already pledged for 🙂

3mm + 5mm Allen keys / Hex wrenches!
This is a combo add-on! Including both a 3mm and a 5mm Allen key / hex wrench. Not only are they the most common tools for IKEA furniture, they are also very common for bicycles! When they are side by side in the GOAT Multi-tool handle they will take up 4 ‘slots’ (each handle has 12mm of tool space, each tool ‘slot’ is 2mm, allowing for a total of 6 slots per handle, or 12 for the entire tool). The Bit Driver already included in the Kickstarter Configuration is also a 4 slot tool, for example. In an emergency situation, they can be used together as a pseudo 8mm (an old cyclist trick if you didn’t have an 8mm, just stack a 3mm + 5mm! No joke!)

Metal File!
This metal file add-on is a handy item I end up using more often than I would expect! Course cross pattern and a fine grit on the other, this file can handle everything from roof nails to fingernails. The opening hole has been slimmed down compared to our other tools to provide a more usable surface area for filing. Here to help you remove jagged edges from metal trim, or smooth over imperfections on a 3D print leftover from raft supports.

Serrated Blade!
This blade is entirely serrated from base to tip to tackle any aggressive cutting needs. Perfect for thick rope, carpet, tri-wall boxes, or anything where a straight edge won’t be enough and a saw blade would be too much. The scalloped edges have just enough changes in the profile to tear through different materials while not being so jagged that it will snag.

Titanium Scales!
A material named after the Titans, 40% lighter than steel but just as strong! These sets of scales coming in at under 1oz! This aerospace material has become a fast favorite amongst the EDC (Everday Carry) community over the last few years and will now be available on GOAT Multi-tools! Each set includes 4 scales (2 per handle), 8 new screws, a spare 2mm allen wrench/hex key, and thread lock.
Bronze Carbon Scraper!
This bronze scraper is perfect for post-range maintenance of your firearms. A solid alloy of copper and tin is strong enough to remove carbon build-up, while still not damaging the steel components. Also being a non-magnetic metal, this is the perfect tool to clean up any magnetic component without it sticking to it.

Risks and challenges
Covid delays have slightly inconvenienced our business. Because the pandemic is still a worldwide problem we are constantly taking action to ensure we reach the expected delivery dates. We have had a few issues with manufacturers using incorrect methods, but have been able to take care of most of these issues. As we are in the final stage of our prototype process, our next biggest challenge is to reach the campaign goal. Some aspects of the design may change due to manufacturing limitations All your contributions to GOAT Tools, monetary and non-monetary are greatly appreciated. We will be sure to keep our community updated if any unforeseen changes arise.
