From farm to table: Supporting Community with an Ethical, Locally Sourced On-Farm Butcher Room
Welcome to Golden Hill Farm Community butcher and food hub, where community, quality and connection converge.

We are on a mission to raise $155,000 to build an on-farm butcher room without the need for banks and shareholders.
Hi, we are Luke and De’arne, a husband-and-wife team who have a vision to create a butcher and boning room on our farm and we would like to invite you to join us on this journey!
We strongly believe that our community will benefit from a local food hub that will connect local farmers, passionate about bringing the region clean, ethically sourced meat while growing a greater connection between producers and consumers.
At Golden Hill Farm we’re on a mission to not only provide the highest quality meats but also to support our local farmers who are trying to achieve regenerative and sustainable practices that benefit our environment, animals and community.
We will be partnering with local farmers who prioritise ethical and sustainable farming practices. This will ensure that our meat is not only delicious but nutrient-dense while contributing to the health of the land and the wellbeing of animals.
About us: in 2021 my wife De’arne and I brought Golden Hill Farm, located on the beautiful Discovery Coast region, on Gooreng Gooreng country. Since then, we have been passionate about establishing sustainable and ethical farming practices that not only nourish our family but also our land and our community.
With my background as a chef, I have always had a keen interest in using fresh produce in my cooking. Having spent two decades honing my craft as a chef in Australian and abroad, I have always cherished the intimate connection between the farmer and the ingredients on my plate. Now as the proud owner of Golden Hill Farm I’m dedicated to the cause of amplifying the connection and sharing the bounty of sustainable and healthy food with our local community. My wife De’arne also shares this desire.
De’arne is very passionate about providing our family of four with nutrient-dense food and loves being in a position to be able to share this with our community. As a teacher, her dream is also to create meaningful employment opportunities on our farm, through the butcher room, to help the youth in our area develop skills and build confidence in their abilities.
Together we are the husband-and-wife team behind the dream of creating an on-farm butcher and boning room a reality for our region. We feel passionately about this cause and have developed Grow-Learn-Share as the pivotal foundations of what we believe in.
Grow: Growing our farm and our community of supporters ethical, nutrient-dense food sustainably while building healthy ecosystems on our land. This is so essential in a world where there is an uncertain future about our food systems and where so much of our food is chemical ridden.
Learn: We are constantly learning and recognise the importance of collaboration with like-minded communities to enhance understanding of sustainable agriculture. With a willingness to learn from each other we are contributing to a deeper understanding of how a sustainable food system can have far reaching benefits to its region.
Share: Golden Hill Farm is dedicated to sharing everything we have learnt including our farming practices, on-farm skills, along with making nutrient-dense produce from our region accessible to the community. We aim to create a culture of learning and collaboration that benefits everyone involved in this agricultural journey both near and far.
Our team: We have been lucky enough to have two regenerative farms put their hands up to join our team who believe strongly in our vision, they are Kerry and Gary Ennett from Berajondo and Richard and Denise Bleckmann from Euleilah. These wonderful humans have supported us and enriched our knowledge and understanding of sustainable farming. Having these farms on board, allow us to have a steady supply of regeneratively farmed product available to our customers. Please click on our website link if you would like to read more about their stories. And lastly our community who are the backbone of our cause. Without the encouragement and willingness from our community to support us, this dream never would have become a reality. We are extremely grateful to everyone who has believed in us.
Who we will support: Our intention at Golden Hill Farm Community butcher, is to create partnerships with local organisations and support their causes.
