Hydro is designed to provide high yields and a constant supply of fresh greens. While your friends will first recognize its modern and appealing design, it was created to feed you and your family.
The sliding mechanism allows you to adjust the height for the best lighting. Most importantly, you can harvest and eat the plants when you want to. There is no urgency to remove the plants once they become too large and risk of burning the leaves.
The Nutri-box is the brain of Hydro. It sits inside the water tank and it is fully waterproof. One side houses the electronic component (the PCB, the sensors and the pumps). The Nutri-box uses temperature, pH and electrical conductivity to ensure your plants have the best water quality at all times.
The other side holds 4 reservoirs that are easy to refill by just removing the screw caps. The required concentration of each nutrient solutions inside the close-loop system will vary from seed germination to adulthood. The Convolute App will let you know when the reservoirs need to be refilled.
The Convolute App will be your personal gardener assistant. Set-up your plants’ growth calendar to follow their growth to full maturity. Receive alerts for low water quality or quantity. Explore all the different varieties available to grow.
Cleaning any closed loop hydroponic system is key to prevent algae formation. We know it can be a tedious task, so we made sure to make it as easy as possible. Hydro’s shelves covers are easily removable and the growth beds can easily be wiped in a few minutes.
With Hydro, you will be able to grow up to 4 kilograms of food per week. Another great benefit of owning Hydro is that in addition to producing your weekly lettuce heads, you will be able to keep a steady supply of fresh herbs without waste.
We recommend to grow 4 to 5 varieties at the same time. Select the seeds you would like to plant from your Experience package. Use the Convolute App plant pairing function to confirm that these plants can successfully grow in the same water solution. If it is not the case, you will get alternate recommendations. This tool was developed to ensure maximum yield of all crops in your harvest.
Product functionalities
After a first experience with already available indoor growers, we identified key missing functionalities. We started sketching a few ideas with all these improvements in mind with the objective to offer the best indoor growing experience, yet. We made sure that all these functionalities were embedded in our first design before working on Hydro’s look.

We teamed up with a creative consultant and an experienced product designer to package our forward thinking concept into the most attractive, modern and clean home appliance.
Meet the founders
Dominick and Julien first met playing hockey during their childhood. They built a strong friendship while studying in university in Quebec City. After graduating, one left for the United Kingdom and the other moved to China. Having always thought of starting and operating a business together, they kept in touch and organized monthly brainstorming sessions. An interest for sustainability, local sourcing, vertical farming and technology quickly turned into a brilliant idea once Dominick started growing veggies hydroponically, but couldn’t quite get it right.

Convolute aims to create a sustainable green tech eco-system. This starts with Hydro; our very first product. We are bringing to market The Future of Connected Kitchen.
Our goal is to bring a first successful growing experience to anyone interested in hydroponics. We intend to create a community of new growers who can improve the availability of fresh greens for their friends and families. We believe it no longer makes sense to consume produce that have travelled thousands of kilometers to arrive to your plate almost a week after it was harvested. Not only do consumers get lower quality produce, but the environmental and social costs associated with this practice no longer make sense in 2022. We want to get multiple generations inspired about growing veggies at home all year round.
The recent Covid-19 pandemic as put a strain on the world supply chain and exposed its multiple flaws. Food waste has become a major problem and soaring prices in every isle of the super market have sent customers looking for alternative.
We should be able to source local, affordable, high quality leafy greens and vegetables. We should also know the conditions in which they were grown and how they contribute to our health. Hydro will provide a continuous supply of fresh greens with full traceability.
We believe that organizations should be accountable for transforming the global economy to benefit all people, communities, and the planet. Therefore, we pledge to donate a percentage from the proceeds of each unit sold to a water conservation NGO in North America. The entity will be chosen by customers from the province or state with the highest quantity of unit sold at the end of the year 2022.
We made sure that you have everything you need to operate and maintain Hydro for the next 6 to 12 months. All the grower components and the Nutri-box fit nicely into 1 large package. The Start-up kit will ship separately in a smaller parcel.
Availability in other regions will rely on local distributors.
Shipping costs:
The shipping costs are not included inside the different reward packages. Customers will be invoiced upon confirmation of the delivery address before shipment.
