Hello! We’re Matt and Zack, the creators behind Agency. We’re good friends who met during a college study abroad program in Tokyo. 

We both share a burning curiosity, an interest in product design and the desire to live life our own way. After discovering the synergy between these concepts, we created Agency: a brand that empowers people to live lives of their own design through creative product design. 

 

 

Guide came about because although we both like to stay clean and organized, we would always end up with dirty stuff to deal with. Think sweaty activewear, wet jackets, or sandy board shorts. Or, we’d end up out in the city in the rain with a laptop. And the typical solutions just didn’t cut it.

Plastic bags aren’t reliable, reusable or friendly to the environment. Dry bags aren’t easy to seal, aesthetically versatile or made to be used alone. Compression bags aren’t durable,  effective without a vacuum or made to be worn. 

So, we decided to get self-reliant: “Let’s just create exactly what we want”.

Over 15 months, we contacted 50+ suppliers, revised designs, and did some crazy product testing (involving sharp objects, a commercial laundromat, a freezer, sea salt and a hair dryer). There were hiccups along the way but we’ve been able to create what we wanted: a truly functional waterproof bag with just the right amount of features and a timeless aesthetic. We’re particularly proud of our innovations: the 6 point strap system, integrated zipper pull tabs, and randoseru inspired form. 

Guide is the bag we were searching for. We’re confident that no matter the situation, Guide (and you) are up for it.

Risks & Challenges

We have worked extremely hard to prepare for Indiegogo and full-scale manufacturing. Our 16 years of combined experience dealing with tangible goods products makes us confident in our ability to produce Guide at quality in mass and deliver on time.

We are personally and deeply involved in the key functions that ensure a successful delivery: production, procurement and global supply chain. Our production partners are experts in waterproof materials, and we have invested a significant amount of time to explain our vision for Guide and communicate the expected level of quality we require for our backers. We have personally product tested Guide through it’s multiple iterations and we are confident in the quality of our output.

If an unforeseen issue happens, we’ll let you know. Our #1 priority is product quality followed by timely delivery. Including a healthy buffer for any surprises, our estimated ship date is December 2023. Backers in different regions of the world may receive their rewards at different times than others.

Shipping, Taxes, Refund Policy and Terms and Conditions

Your pledge amount does not include shipping or tax costs. For more information, please refer to the “Shipping” section. Although the product design is nearly completed, materials and final design of the project are subject to change. This means that the final reward that you receive may not be exactly the same as what is presented on this Indiegogo campaign page. We reserve the right to cancel any pledge (with a full refund) at any time, for any reason.

Returns and refunds are case by case and at our discretion. This project is being funded in USD and any refunds will be in USD for the exact amount received in USD, excluding any applicable fees related to the timing of the return request. We are not responsible for foreign exchange rate fluctuations.

If we ship to the address provided and the package is undeliverable, you will have to pay the full cost to ship the Reward again to a revised address. If we ship the Reward to the address provided and the package is delivered but you cannot retrieve or locate the package and you wish to have the order fulfilled again, you will have to pay the full cost to ship the order to a revised address plus the amount of the original Reward plus any add-ons or upgrades. Reward quantities are limited and we may not be able to ship all or part of your order more than once. If any part of your order cannot be fulfilled for any reason, we will provide you with a pro-rated refund for that portion of your order.
