We studied the market and found out that all hot water bottles and heating pads had the same flaws: the heat release was inefficient, and many of them were wasting water or causing burn injuries due to defective materials damage or electrical heating issues.

Our vision was to design more than just a regular heat pack. We wanted to create a warm, huggable companion to be there whenever you need it, and one that would solve the problems of current heaters. Some key aspects were an absolute must: a long-lasting heat release, safety, user friendliness, and a beautiful, high-quality design.

The cover of Heatbag is specially designed for a focused heat release with its clever differentiated sides. It is machine washable, made of recycled foam and a soft jersey fabric.

• Open side: the one towards the open air has a thick insulating foam layer, preventing temperature loss.
• Body side: the one towards your body is thin enough to release the heat slowly, preventing you from getting burnt by cold or heat.

After doing extensive research we chose to make the inner core out of clay. The use of this natural material brings multiple advantages. It can be used an unlimited number of times, contributing towards reducing the waste of water. It has a greater thermal inertia, meaning it stays warm or cold for a longer period compared to conventional fillings. It is also cleaner, easier and safer to use, being FDA/CE certified.

Heat reduces stress and tension throughout the body, as it increases the blood circulation keeping the muscles functioning properly and providing them with more oxygen and nutrients. Hugs, even short ones, immediately release oxytocin, a hormone associated with happiness and stress relief.

When heat and hugs are combined, both body and mind experience a sense of wellbeing that contributes to better long-term health and balance.

During the last months we have been intensely looking for the best materials, textures and combinations to design the beautiful yet functional product that we could not find in the market.
