Help us keep supporting families in our area with low prices and the ever growing rise of inflation!

Story

Short Summary

We are “Meadows Baby and Kids” and are reaching out to the public to help support our local small business located in Prince Edward County, Ontario! We are a small family run business that buys and sells new and used baby/kid clothing and items! We opened our first store in June 2022 in Wellington, ON, and in November 2023 moved to a larger location in Picton, ON where we are able to fully serve our community!

This campaign is to help us raise some funds to help us continue to support our community alongside great community partners! We are currently THE ONLY baby/kids store of our kind within this smaller community, and the need for our services is staggering! With the ever rising cost of raising a family between housing, and food inflation, we are here to serve the community by bringing great quality items at a fraction of big box stores and retail costs!

By supporting our business in store, or through this campaign you will ensure that our services will remain in the area, and the ever growing amount of young families in the area, as well as the vulnerable community such as low income, homeless, and the every day families just trying to get by!

What We Need & What You Get

We are looking to reach a certain number of funds to help us bring down our opening costs as between our first location and the major renovation of that location, then within 3 months of being open, and outgrowing that space. Then to move into our new location in Picton, our start-up costs have been baring down on us more than we ever planned which is limiting our long term viability of supporting our community with this huge overhead cost pulling us down each month!

  • So! We are looking for support from our community members and business’s through way of this campaign to donate whatever amount they are able to, help us keep this business within our community for many years to come!
  • With every donation, we plan on creating a plaque of all of the individual names and business’s that have donated and supported our store and hang it on an “Our community supporters” wall to have your name and business recognized for their effort in helping support the families within our community along with social media shout outs and branding!

The Impact

  • Our store is unique as we are not a “thrift store” but rather a retail shop that has new and used items! Being able to bring in these items used from the public not only means we can keep costs down substantially, but it means we are putting cash in our locals pockets to use however they choose. Need to upgrade your child to the next season or size? Sure, just bring in your previous gently used items for us to sort through, making sure we only take in quality items with no rips, stains or tears and receive CASH on the spot for your items!
  • Or keep that money for yourself to help pay some bills, use in other local business’s or however you choose!
  • We are simply here to serve you by bringing great quality for a FRACTION of retail price!

Other Ways You Can Help

Some people just can’t contribute, but that doesn’t mean they can’t help:

  • Share our campaign to your family and friends, even if they haven’t ever stepped into our shop! Getting the word out is key, and it helps us just as much as any contribution would!
  • Shop local with us for any of your child’s needs!
  • Indiegogo has easy to use share tools!
