Hesed Seats are a radical breakthrough in ergonomic seating. They have a unique active technology which allow the muscles in your back and thighs engage in continuous micro exercise. We call it Flexercise!  Your body gets a mini workout whilst you sit.  You tone and condition your postural muscles and maintain your body’s normal, healthy function.

Hesed Seats are more comfortable because they adapt to your unique shape. Humans are organic, natural not manufactured beings.  Nine out of ten people have a slight leg length difference. This means that they also have a pelvic height difference and their spine will have its own natural side-to-side curves.

A limited first batch of 120 Hesed Chairs and Stools has already been made using finished factory made parts.  We assembled and packed all of the first batch by hand in our small workshop, but we need to set up a factory assembly line for the Hesed Chair & Stool project to be sustainable.

The Hesed Chair weighs less than a third of the average task chair and as each component is meticulously designed and chosen for its environmental credentials it has a far smaller carbon footprint.  

We can’t do it without you

Breathing life into a disruptive technology is notoriously difficult. We’ve done most of the hard work already.  The tools for industrial manufacture are made and were used to produce the first full production run.  That paid for the tooling and first run, but to push the button on the second, hopefully larger one, we need our Indiegogo community to support us and pre-order a health-saving, planet-saving Hesed.  Once we have the production funds we will have all our components in 12 weeks after ordering, start assembling and packing immediately and ship shortly afterwards.

Imagine a world were sitting becomes the healthy option.  One where of equal importance in design and manufacture is to have as minimal an impact on the environment as is possible.  That’s the difference your support will make!

Risks and Challenges

All the tools for factory manufacture have been made and tested in our first small production run. Have a look at some of the pictures of our tools below.

We shipped Heseds to 100 + users who have ‘loved’ their Heseds for several months and no manufacturing issues have arisen.

That’s given us the confidence to approach the Indiegogo community.  

Once we have the funds in place we’ll place the order with our various UK-based manufacturers.

The longest lead time we are looking at is for our very specialised wooden components.  That’s 12 weeks and all other manufacturing times fall comfortably within that.

The pandemic has lengthened lead times and increased cost.  It’s also made sourcing materials harder than before.  However, this has all been taken into account.  There are always ‘unforeseen disasters’ that can occur, but we hope we’ve planned for just about everything!
