Multi-Award Winning Documentary HOLY FRIT seeks funds for a 2023 Theatrical & Promotional Tour.
This story chronicles the making of “The Resurrection Window,” the largest stained glass window of its kind ever made. Its completion required the coming together of people with various and complementary skillsets and personalities. Tim Carey, Narcissus Quagliata, Bullseye Glass, Judson Studios, and the Church of the Resurrection were thrust into a 3-year quest of historic magnitude. And filmmaker Justin Monroe was there for all of it. Every step of the way, at every twist and turn, Monroe was embedded with this dynamic group of people to capture the magic.
We are looking to fund a ten-city nationwide tour, offering extended theatrical runs, with opportunities for Q&A sessions with the director, Justin Monroe, and the subject of the film, Tim Carey. The funds will launch a robust national marketing & advertising campaign to elevate public awareness and ensure a successful theater run. The entire theatrical tour and national marketing campaign will be expertly planned and run by Abramorama Entertainment, with additional support provided by Roco Films, two of the independent film industry’s most prolific marking & distribution companies for documentary films.
An innovator in niche film distribution, Abramorama is a company focused on global distribution and marketing for feature films with an emphasis on documentaries that have a social and community impact.
With more than 20 Oscar-nominated films in their library, ROCOFilms is a documentary film distributor and sales company. They actively advocate for documentaries to be licensed, screened, and discussed in communities worldwide.
All said… We need your help to make this happen! We are looking for generous donations totaling $147,000 to fund this exciting and ambitious endeavor.

The festival success of Holy Frit showed that this film was truly meant to be seen on the big screen by an audience. We witnessed people of all ages and backgrounds, coming together in the uniquely magical environment of a movie theater to experience the journey of “something new” coming to life. For a film that was seven-years-in-the-making, about a massive fused glass window, the movie expresses itself best when played on the big screen. And we believe a national theatrical release will ensure that Holy Frit has the best possible chance to create the biggest impact on communities and individuals worldwide, during its theatrical run and beyond for many years to come.
Rarely does a film come around that can take a niche subject, like stained glass, and make it accessible to people of all ages and backgrounds. The way this film was created and edited focuses not just on the art and the making of the window, but it highlights all of the accompanying human themes that are revealed during a journey of this type.
From beginning to end, Tim Carey’s humor and raw openness as the lead character, lowers the audience’s defenses. It allows them to open their minds to a subject that may at first seem niche and ancient, but by the end proves to be universal and timeless. And once freed from skepticism, the audience can dive fully into the wild ride that unfolds… a three-year race against time, a dynamic struggle of artists attempting to make history, a tug-of-war between mentor and student, client and contractor, owner and employee. All of these mini stories that take place within the overall arc of the film fuse together by the end to create a resonance and swell of emotions.
We have witnessed first-hand the film’s meaningful effect on audiences around the
world during the film festival run, and we truly desire to offer this experience to as many
people as possible.
The independent film scene is an ever-evolving landscape of creativity, passion, and innovation. From cult classics to award-winning debuts, these films have not only dazzled our screens with unforgettable stories, but have illuminated bold new paths for filmmakers and artists in the film industry. Indie film is also highly influential when it comes to storytelling. By avoiding the pressures of popular trends, these filmmakers can explore untapped subjects and elevate underrepresented voices within their stories. They can also create surreal, stunning visuals that are unrestrained by the studio system.
Ultimately, independent films are important because they add needed diversity to the cinematic canon. With their groundbreaking stories and unique aesthetic, these films provide a new platform for filmmakers and the subjects they cover to open up new opportunities for us all to explore.
Indie films so rarely get the opportunity to be seen in theaters. Independent documentaries especially have an uphill struggle for recognition. Holy Frit however, has a proven track record not only with its successful run in film festivals, but with all of the media attention, news appearances, and positive critical reviews that accompanied its initial Festival Run.
At the end of the day, movies are about connecting with our emotions and passions. They give us permission to explore those feelings and can be a source of comfort and joy. Holy Frit is meant to live on the big screen, to uplift the story of glass and the artist’s struggle, and hopefully inspire you to take risks and explore your own passions.
The filmmakers are truly thankful, both for your support of Holy Frit, and your willingness to share this campaign with others who you believe might be interested in helping bring our glassy film to audiences far and wide.
