Bringing the Manassas area into a new era through real ales, and real community.

Story

Short Summary

Hello, my name is Mike. I am a long time beer professional with over a decade of brewing and hospitality experience who wants to take over a small brewery to really dial-in a NEW brand identity, WOLF & BEAR Beer Co. will be a 2-barrel nano brewery in Manassas Producing small batches means that we will not have to be tied to one beer for long. To start off, we will focus in on ales and lagers inspired by English and European traditions. However, don’t fret there will be plenty of opportunity for creative beers as well.

I am looking to raise funds to help acquire the brewery from the existing owners and refocus the business on creating consistent beer, and building a community hub where you want to come hang out after work with your mates.

What We Need & What You Get:

What will this money be used for?

A large portion will be used to acquire the existing business from the current owners.

Any remaining funds after the acquisition will be used to update furniture in the space to make it feel more welcoming, or operating expenses to get things started.

In exchange for your contribution, we will offer access to our membership perks which will allow you to receive discounts on taproom pours, crowlers to-go, merch, and early access to exclusive beer releases.

The Impact

The success of this campaign helps to keep the oldest brewery in Manassas alive. This project also gives an avenue to showcase my creative interpretation of what good beer can be.

Risks & Challenges

I think it would be foolish to ignore one of the biggest challenges to the success of this project, space.

At 9776 Center St. the location is really, really small. The real challenge with a space so small is being able to make the space feel welcoming while bringing in as many beer drinking fans as possible. With the right furnishings, and layout we can overcome this challenge with ease.

Another challenge that may show its ugly head early on, is production capacity. Even with pushing the existing brew system to the max, we could still only pump out 110-barrels (27,000 pints) of beer per year. If production capacity becomes a problem before we can expand, we will reach out to other breweries in the area to contract the more popular brands.

Other Ways You Can Help

Regardless of your ability to contribute, please, please, please share this campaign with every last beer lover you know. Share the link on your own social media pages. With enough eyes, I know we can make this happen.

I want to make this a truly community driven brewery, and what better way to make this community driven than to involve the community in the mission.
