Awkward best friends try to start a Ghost Hunting business but instead, put the planet in danger.
THE PAUL & LAWRENCE STORY
Paul & Lawrence: Ghost Hunters is a comedy-horror film about two ambitious yet PAINFULLY awkward teens who start a Ghost Hunting business. What starts as an innocent and determined hunt for nefarious supernatural forces quickly escalates into a rescue mission. Armed with crafty gear and their lifelong friendship (and unsuspecting cameraman, Randy), Paul and Lawrence dodge real-life saboteurs like an power-tripping principal, a gang of violent Girl Scouts, and an obnoxious neighborhood bully, and, of course. the paranormal threats they meet along the way. But their hero’s journey won’t end until they free the prettiest girl in the neighborhood from a demonic force hellbent on destroying the world.
Think, if Napoleon Dynamite had a lovechild with Stranger Things, in the Superbad universe.
ABOUT THE FILMMAKER
I’m Jack Thomas, better known from my Youtube channel: Jack Pop.
Movie nights were sacred as a kid, and I grew up watching the classics with my family. I found myself drawn to world class filmmakers like Steven Spielberg, Quentin Tarantino, Wes Anderson, Sam Raimi, John Carpenter, and Edgar Wright, just to name a few. When I was 8, my dad gave me his old Panasonic Camcorder and a 21″ iMac, preloaded with an old version of Final Cut Pro, the editing software I continue to use to this day. From then on making my own movies was the only thing I ever wanted to do.
By the time I was 17 I had written, directed, filmed, edited, and even animated over a thousand videos: sketch comedy skits, shorts, animations and short films, some of which have been nominated and won awards at various festivals and competitions. But my passion for this continues to be inspired by my supporters; my channel currently has over 2 million subscribers across YouTube and social media, and over 400 million views of my own chaos-infused comedic styled content.
WHERE ALL THE MONEY IS GOING…
From artists to special effects to crew. My vision is to bridge the gap between the youtube aesthetic that my fans are used to with the highest quality special effects we can afford.
We’ve been working around the clock, meeting with talent that represent the full range of budgeting options.
We need money to help pay for:
- Crew
- Actors
- Artists
- Producers
- Special Effects
- Makeup
- Gear
- Props
While 100K may seem like a high number, it’s a drop in the bucket for the kind of effort we are undertaking. What we really need is closer to the range of $250K-1 Million. If we can meet our initial goal and then keep it moving that goal upwards with Stretch Goals, our special effects and level of professional quality will soar, and the movie is much more likely to be successful.
I would love to be able to make something that really launches my dream- to have a career in the movie-making business. I have so many ideas and so many scripts already written- this is just the beginning. And your support for this first big project will come with some great perks and incentives, which hopefully will be worth something someday!
So, please donate! Any amount is appreciated. And if you’ve ever enjoyed my content or believe in my potential, it would be amazing if you could also spread the word.
The comments and messages of support I’ve received over the years have really inspired and motivated to believe in myself, and I’m excited to make you all proud by showing you what I can really do.
ASSEMBLING THE TEAM
I’ve partnered with Imagination Emissary Productions to make my vision a reality. Together, we have been recruiting the best people in the industry in my hometown of Atlanta, including professionals in the areas of story development, merch artists, crew, and special effects. After years of honing my own unique style of filming and editing on JackPop, my next ambition is to bring that same aesthetic to the big screen—and to make a film of the absolute highest quality I can afford.

SICK GADGETS
We’ve teamed up with the gadget wizards at Wonderbox to create some of the gadgets Paul and Lawrence will be using as they bravely go into battle.
STORYBOARD ARTIST
Gable Marynell has been hard at work, storyboarding our visions down on page so that our special effects teams know what we’re trying to accomplish.
MOVIE POSTER ARTIST
Famed Atlanta Artist, Ashley Anderson is hard at work in his studio finalizing the Paul & Lawrence: Ghost Hunters Poster art that will be used for the exclusive poster and t-shirt art! This guy actually PAINTS the art and has it professionally scanned and printed. We can’t WAIT for you to see this.
SOUNDTRACK AND SFX
I’m excited to be working with the Atlanta-based Electro-Architects responsible for electro-rock band SlowEarth and Electro-Pop ZÆN as they’ll be heading up the soundtrack and SFX duties!
A Good Cause!
One final thing I’d like to talk about.
Several people in this production, myself included, haven’t had the easiest path when it comes to learning and achieving. I have grown up knowing that there are things I’m great at and things that are just harder for me, especially in the place where kids are most expected to learn and succeed- in school.
The Howard School in Atlanta, GA offers the type of learning environment that meets kids where they are, appreciating that the way kids learn is actually pretty diverse and often challenging. But private schools like Howard are super expensive. Not all families can make it happen.
So, we’ve decided that if Paul & Lawrence: Ghosthunters reaches our goal of 100K, we will donate 5% of the campaign funds to The Howard Fund Financial Aid Program to directly help those families give their kids the opportunity for an education they deserve.
Further, if by some miracle, I manage to double my campaign goal to 200K, then I will double my donation commitment to 10%!
Now, let’s make a movie!
