Short Summary

Java Notes Records is an innovative hybrid business model located in the southern part of the greater Charlotte metro area, combining a specialty coffee shop with a vinyl record store that transforms into a queer-friendly event space by evening. The establishment focuses on offering high-quality coffee, a diverse selection of vinyl records, and non-alcoholic beverages during the day, while hosting inclusive entertainment and community events at night. Java Notes Records targets the burgeoning demographic of young adults and music enthusiasts who crave unique social experiences in an inclusive environment.

What We Need & What You Get

We are looking for funding to open our first brick-and-mortar store to complete our vision of pioneering inclusive and enriching experiences that unite coffee lovers, music enthusiasts, and the queer community. We want to be that space that people always return to because it is their favorite place.

Our Coffee Shop/Records Store will not only sale Coffee and Records, but we will sell two unique experiences to the Charlotte Market.  First will be our Pour Over Tours, where we will teach a group of you and your friends about the process of making coffee and let you taste coffee from around the world. Secondly, we will have our coffee flights, are you tired of drinking the same coffee drink day in and day out, with a coffee flight you will be able to try new coffees without committing to an entire drink.

The Impact

Right now, Charlotte, North Carolina, is at risk of losing all the unique queer space that focuses on building the community by hosting live entertainment that focuses on queer spaces. By giving to this campaign, you are ensuring that another non-alcoholic-centric space can really develop. We will focus on supporting our queer entertainers, artist, and creatives.

Risks & Challenges

Our biggest challenge is funding, so we are asking for help. Most businesses struggle to make it by the first year; we have done our research and have a solid business plan. It takes a community to build an amazing space where all feel welcome. While we have investors helping with most of the work we are trying to build a base and brand, in today’s social media world that can be difficult.
