In our opinion, one of the greatest quotes in history is from “Confucius” the Chinese philosopher: “Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall”.  This fan-film attempts to explore and present the complex yet loving relationship between the TMNT brothers and how their father’s teachings instilled the quoted concepts in each of them. The TMNT message to us has always been that when you are a family, and no matter what character traits you have, you will always be loved by those who surround you, unless they are your enemy. The LEGO Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Fan-Film) uses the family bond to reinforce the message that no matter what, you will always need one another and to always love first. Unconditional love can be overwhelming, and sometimes you don’t know how to deal with it, but you must remember to love first, second, and always. You must embrace and accept each other as a package with all of the negative and positive traits.

This new adaptation of the turtles has never been seen before, offering a new adventure filled with positive messages and LEGO stylized humor. Throughout their journey, the turtles must rely on their family-instilled love and dig deep to rediscover their camaraderie and strengthen their brotherly bond. The most rewarding outcome for me personally would be to watch people from all ages come together and enjoy the fan-film. If this version achieves that, it will only mean my team and I have succeeded. TMNT has been around for a very long time, and we hope to have created “the best TMNT fan depiction yet”.

It is important to note that the designs of these characters were heavily inspired by the 2012 show and their most recent adaptation, Mutant Mayhem. 

Leonardo: Being the oldest brother is one of the most important responsibilities for Leonardo. He has to stay aware of how his brothers are feeling and has to always stay on task. In our film, he will embark on a journey of self-fulfillment, because since he’s the oldest, he feels as if he’s been watching his “little” brothers this whole time and hasn’t focused on himself and his training.

Raphael: Being one of the physically strongest brothers, Raphael feels as if his entire life he’s been shadowed by Leonardo, who claims is the leader of the group. Since Raphael is considered a “hot head”, he rarely thinks, and only uses his head in a physical manner when it comes to fighting villains.

Michelangelo: Being the youngest brother, Michelangelo’s life has been entirely filled with chaotic / funny moments, as he has an obsession with pizza, females, and video games. Although those same characteristics are fulfilled in our film, he will also find himself in situations where he has to drop the jokes in order to do what’s best for his brothers.

Donatello: Donatello is the smartest turtle. He is brainy, squirmy, and a little fragile. He believes he’s the best asset to this team because he knows they would be in a lot worse conditions as a team without his help. Even though he rarely gets praise, he knows his worth. Out of all of the turtles, let’s just say he thinks of himself as the glue to this team; or “family”.

Creating a film nowadays isn’t cheap – especially a feature length 3D animated film. The coolest part about creating something like this is, given the quality Azads Studios is able to produce, this fan-film can be the first of its kind! Our budget (campaign goal) is designed based on two simple factors: fairness and quality.

When working with a multi-award-winning film studio (Azads Studios), an animation team, audio team, voice actors, additional vfx, and 2D artists from all around the globe, it’s important for everyone to get a fair share for their hard work and contributions.

Fun fact: Our entire cast and crew are working from their own homes / workstations all across the globe! From spreading across the entire U.S. to countries like Germany, Ukraine and Australia! Everyone that is a part of this project hopes that with the completion and release of this fan-film, it will help jumpstart their future careers in the filmmaking industry!

As you can imagine, 3D animated films are expensive to create. In fact, they are one of the most expensive types of media. But we want to create this film because it portrays impactful and heartfelt moments that sadly most films nowadays don’t teach. It includes the power of bravery, laughter, and most importantly love. $150,000: This would allow us to create a version of our fan-film that would enable us to adapt all of our ideas, with a grand opening sequence, complex characters with their own struggles & flaws, and a satisfying conclusion that embraces the messages of our fan-film.

$200,000 +: This would support the full version of our fan-film’s original script. This would allow us to flesh out the quality & length of the film to it’s full potential which would be our ultimate dream.
