Overview
Hi, book lovers & education warriors!
My name is Dr. Kai Jones; passionate and dedicated educator with 20+ years of experience working in public schools specifically, socioeconomic and underserved neighborhoods in the Bronx, NY, and Charlotte, NC. I am also a book lover and avid reader that believes in the power of education. I affirm that reading transforms lives and I aim to establish a transformative mobile bookstore in Charlotte, NC.
My goal is to promote literacy, provide free books to children in underserved neighborhoods, and offer various educational programs to support reading development. With your support, we can make a lasting impact on the lives of children and families.
Campaign Goals:
1. Provide free books to children in underserved neighborhoods to bridge the literacy gap and ignite a passion for reading.
2. Organize monthly adult and children book clubs to foster a sense of community and encourage literary discussions.
3. Offer professional development workshops to educators, parents, and caregivers to enhance their knowledge of reading instruction and literacy.
4. Conduct engaging read-aloud sessions with schools and organizations to inspire children and promote the joy of reading.
5. Collaborate with homeschool parents and provide reading education services.
6. Empower parents and caregivers with resources and services to teach reading to small children effectively.
Why Your Support Matters:
1. Empowering Underserved Communities: Access to books and educational resources is limited in underserved neighborhoods. Your contribution will directly impact the lives of children who might not have access to quality reading materials.
2. Fostering a Love for Reading: By organizing book clubs, read-aloud sessions, and promoting a love for reading, we will inspire a lifelong passion for books and learning.
3. Educational Empowerment: Providing professional development workshops and teaching parents/caregivers how to teach reading to small children will empower individuals with the knowledge and tools to support their children’s literacy development.
4. Strengthening Community Bonds: Our mobile bookstore will serve as a community hub, fostering connections and engagement among residents, schools, and organizations.
How Your Contribution Will Be Utilized:
1. Vehicle customization and equipment: $25,000
