War hero Bobby Henline transforms his tragedy into a comedy by using humor to deal with his trauma.
Live Well Done
Have you heard of the Well Done Comedian?
Bobby Henline is an American war veteran, a Purple Heart recipient, a burn survivor, and Wounded Warrior. While serving as a paratrooper on his 4th tour in Iraq, Bobby suffered burns on over 40% of his body. While in recovery at the hospital, Bobby turned to humor as therapy. He was cracking jokes from left to right and had every doctor and nurse rolling on the floor laughing. It wasn’t until one of the therapists pushed Bobby to give stand-up comedy a chance, that he began his career.
We are filming Bobby as he goes on a cross-country road trip of the U.S., making people laugh, smile, and bringing joy while reminding us how beautiful life is. From comedy clubs to small ventures, our journey is one of comic redemption, post-trauma, and most importantly, hope.
The end of our road trip will also culminate our cinematic journey, which will serve as the start of Bobby’s own TV special. We’re going to discover Bobby’s inspiring tale through the different perspectives found through America and the ways in which people use humor to connect.
What We Need & What You Get
Simply put, we need funding. Whether you can donate $1.00 or $100.000 – every little bit counts.
Bobby’s story needs to be heard! For anyone living with trauma, or simply needing a laugh, Bobby’s comedy is for you. Go on our live journey to experience emotional reactions of anger, sadness, survivor’s guilt, numbness, and anxiety through interactions with family, friends, and strangers or simply going to the grocery store.
You will see firsthand how society reacts and then acts when encountering someone who “looks” different. Walk the road of hyperarousal, triggers, flashbacks, behavioral changes, and social reactions as Bobby continues his journey of Living Well Done. Finally, you will see and feel the impact he is making with combat veterans, first responders, and Gold Star Family members through the non-profit Forging Forward, of which he is a co-founder.
We’re offering limited edition Live Well Done merchandise. Check our perks section for more information!
Budget
Our Flexible Goal is $50,000, which is the bare minimum to start filming. Our Total Budget is $150,000, which will get us from pre-production all the way to a finished film.
Budget: $150,000
Pre-production: $20,000
location, organizational, insurance, permits
Production: $90,000
crew, equipment, transportation, and accommodation (fuel, food, flights, shelter)
Post-production: $40,000

What happens if we exceed our flexible goal?
The Flexible Goal is the minimal budget to start the initial filming. To complete the filming and to move the final film to professional venues, it is estimated that a Total Budget of $150,000 is required. The Total Budget includes pre-production expenses, professional film and post-production crew, transportation and accommodations for all parties, music, distribution, and film festival submissions.
What happens if the Flexible Goal and Total Budget are not reached?
If the Flexible Goal and Total Budget are not reached through Indiegogo, the movie will still be made – but it may take a little longer! Our team will use additional crowdfunding platforms, grants, shop it to film producers, investors, and backers, and other opportunities that come our way.

The Impact
Bobby’s story is an inspiring one. It demonstrates the power of laughter to overcome life’s greatest challenges. In a day and age of isolation and widespread mental health difficulties, we know that if Bobby’s story gets out there, it will inspire people to find ways to smile and appreciate all the beauty that life has to offer, albeit our obstacles and disabilities.
Award-winning director Nony Geffen will direct “Live Well Done.” Geffen has two feature films under his belt, four Israeli Oscar nominations (three for a feature, one for a short), has shadow-directed Oscar-winning director Peter Farrelly, and is, above all, an artist who follows stories that he believes in!
The Team
Risks & Challenges
Filmmaking is filled with risks and challenges. Timelines change, budgetary restrictions force you to come up with creative solutions. We’re asking for money to kick off this documentary. It will cover equipment and travel costs for filming Bobby’s cross-country road trip, including comedy shows, motivational speaking gigs, and conversations between Bobby and those he meets along the way. When this stage is finished, we will be able to shop our cut around to get additional funding for the post-production process.
